  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

When and where did they start teaching? What did they teach?

When and where did they start teaching? What did they teach?

Repentance, faith, baptism, the laying on of hands, good works, keeping the commandments of Christ, the Eucharist.

All the things necessary for salvation.

They taught the gospel of the Kingdom of God, starting on the day of Pentecost. They taught in people's homes, every day. It's in the book of Acts.

Imagine thinking the Eucharist is necessary for salvation even though the thief on the cross never took it.

The thief on the cross died under the old covenant. He was not baptized, neither did he receive the Holy Spirit. But anyway.

Jhn 6:53 - Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

Jhn 6:54 - “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

yes those are wonderful passages regarding the symbolic partaking of the bread and the cup.

47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.

There is no "symbolic partaking...". It means what it says. You say "the one who believes has eternal life" but then it says:

Mar 16:16 - “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Now is it he who believes or he who believes and is baptized? Or is it he who believes and is baptized and then receives the Holy Spirit? The writer to the Hebrews says these are "elementary principles", see Hebrews 6:1-2.

Being baptized is what people do when they believe. The concept of believing and then being baptized was the normal procedure for people who accepted Christ and were saved. Already.

What do you mean by "already"?
