I don't bother with them because -- as you mentioned -- success at keeping the resolutions has not been good thusfar. However, The Lord is working with me on that so . . .I am going to try and drop some weight! I quit smoking last year and gained 30lbs that I need to lose.

or not I wanted to be a Train Engineer when I was growing up. It stuck with me for a long time. Even into adult years. Why I never pursued it, is beyond me. I could have retired by now

that would be a toss up between Israel (for spiritual reasons) and Italy (for scenery, etc) -- more specifically Positano as seen below. I seem to have a thing for "I" countries :0)
