  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If he can't do that, it speaks wonders about him. (Not a good kind of way.)

If one doesn't have anything to say of substance, I think the short responses are best.

I guess that depends on what is said, in that brevity.

I would judge effectiveness of making points in a different way, such as having support with logic, but thats just me.

Where there are many words, transgression is unavoidable

No it's not. Ice in Antarctica is not unexpected.

;)

Woah slow down now, if you haven't gotten through basic science and geography you might not know that Antarctica is cold enough for ice, even in the summer.

Pay no mind to the sub freezing temperatures stretching out hundreds of miles from the coast.

Then the scientist leading the expedition must have got his team stuck in the ice on purpose. This just keeps getting better

I've finally figured it out. Why you live 300 miles from a hazardous waste disposal site, can't name the state you live in, and have no idea how weather works. You live 300 miles under the united states, making your exact state difficult to determine or moot in point.

You are in fact, a Crab Person! :p

Perhaps a more entertaining line of thought when it comes to AGW is "so what?"

We are the most adaptable species on the planet. We've inhabited everything from deserts to frozen tundra prior to advanced technology. Our natural ability to adapt combined with our now highly complex tool usage would allow us to survive severe environmental changes with relative ease. The sheer number of species that have come and gone since we first walked upright should tell us something.

I would think more concern would be with the poisonous aspects of emissions and rising CO2 levels, which are harder to cope with than adjusting a thermostat or wearing lighter clothing.

The planet will get warmer and cooler, the oceans will rise and fall, regardless of human intervention. We can definitely and are definitely impacting it. But the degree to which we are is far less disturbing than the toxic effects that are behind those changes.

Sometimes even an SUV is sufficient to overcome global warming.

Give me an example, as it relates to the responses we are discussing.
For example, I rarely have any trouble following Mach's logic. Since I can follow both your logic and his, and since Mach also seems able to follow your logic then the logical conclusion is that your logic is less diverse.

Hope that helps.
