If what we take into our mind comes out in our life lets be thinking about the coming year and make a goal or two!

In my daily read through I'm finishing up Mark. Looks like I may not finish by 12/31 but thats o.k. Seems I find new treasures every time I go through! For a long while I used a different bible every read through and marked them all up. Now I pretty much stick with NKJV and like it very well.

Also today I received two new books in the mail(thanks to amazon I stay broke!)
Puritan Paperback, A Puritan Golden Treasury,I.D.E.Thomas(former minister in Wales)Back cover states: This book does not belong to the ordinary run of anthologies but is a masterful selection by an author who has given many years to his work. The 1500 quotations from a wide range of Puritans have been chosen with great care, and arranged under topical headings. They form an ideal introduction to the writings of the great and godly men of the 17th century and will prove to be devotional reading of the highest quality.

Also: The Pilgrims Progress Devotional, a daily journey through the christian life by Cheryl Ford.
This is Bunyan's allegory divided into a years worth of devotional segments that unveil the substance of his timeless work and its characters.

Share what you're reading and your plan for the coming year. What type bible study do you do?
Iron sharpens iron so lets share and benefit from each other!

Well, my goal and my reality unfortunately are not always the same thing.
In the MacArthur Study Bible, he outlines a style of study where it will take you 3 years to get thru the whole NT, but you will know it inside and out. Thats my goal, I just hope I can maintain the focus.

I read the Bible 2 different ways - when I'm "studying" I read it with pen and paper in hand (actually a journal) and I take notes just like I did when I was in school. I'm happy if I get a chapter done that way. Plus I try (but don't always succeed) to read a Psalm and a Proverb every day. But I also read it like a book - especially the history books in the Old Testament. The stories are fascinating to just plain read through. When I do that I can read a book in a very short period of time - for example, I've read Exodus or the Samuels in just a couple of hours.

Other than that, I'm reading a novel (always have one of those going), The Canons of Dort, The Wit and Wisdom of Cal Thomas. I have a couple of books on my Amazon wish list (Hard to Believe : The High Cost and Infinite Value of Following Jesus and With Reverence and Awe: Returning to the Basics of Reformed Worship) - I'll be ordering soon and am looking forward to reading them in the not too distant future.
