gift ideas needed

I've been invited to attend the christening (catholic)of my 1 year old cousin and I have no idea what a traditional gift for such occasions is. I kinda want to leave a good impression. I heard something about silver spoons, but that's about all I know.

Also, what should I wear? A light coloured dress or similar?

When my brother was christened he got a little gold chair that he always wears
it has a little cross on it. when i was christened i gotg spoons, chains, bracelets, charms
and crosses
but i think the little gold chain with the little cross on it is a good idea

Traditional gifts at Catholic baptisms are rosaries, little crucifixes on chains, and maybe a statue of some discript. However, as Catholic children tend to get a lot of things like for their First Eucharist, when it has more significance cos they can remember getting them!
