CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Some things about me:
1) I really, really like musicals. Most specifically, Newsies, the Sound of Music, Singing in the Rain, and Mary Poppins.
2) I am a rising college sophomore English major at a small liberal-arts Catholic college in North Carolina.
3) After college, I want to move to Honduras, Guatamala, or Argentina and work with orphans while teaching English literature in Spanish.
4) My two-year anniversary of being Catholic occurs April 19th.
5) I love old stuff-- including clothes, music, and the entire "old-fashioned" world-view.

- At various points in my life, I have lived in the Midwest, on the East Coast, on the West Coast and in England.
- I converted when I was a senior in college.
- I wanted to be a diplomat when I went to college, but then got caught up in the whole academia thing.
- I volunteer with the Diocese of San Jose's juvenile hall detention ministry.
- I like to do photography in my spare time.
