  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And you also currently live in Nebraska, isn't that right? Which is why I have a bias in favor of you. :)

I am in Omaha.. which I guess makes us mortal enemies. You are in the panhandle, and we in Omaha think that anything west of Millard isn't Nebraska....:D

I LOVE the football team. I have never been fairweather... We WILL have a comeback. I support the team that my dad loved... I guess that's where I got it from.

haha... Aaron... You know that with God...anything is possible.... :D

And I want you to know something else... I know that many people were happy and rejoiceful over the season (s) ..to see Nebraska get killed.....because Nebraska had done that over and over and over and over and over ... to others... so that is why it's so well received when we lose... which is fine...BUT... what goes around will come around... and we just wait... because it always works that way....

LOL... I'm way over in Alliance, about an hour from Scottsbluff.. west of millard...hmm, anything west of North Platte should be Wyoming anyways.. hehe.

Yes the football, hey, we had been the best for how many decades? If we wouldn't have a few bad years then no one else would ever win.. Besides, we're not really bad, we're just "playing possum". :D

LOL... I do some experimental cooking myself... however, I found that sometimes its best just to leave the 'experi' from a few things I've cooked up... hehe

They also have the Czech capital of the USA here in Nebraska in Wilbur.. never been to it yet. But you know Czechs, any reason to have festivities..

My grandmother on my mom's side's family was czech :)

The old world Czechs are the best! My father is a true blue Bohemian as were both my paternal granparents... my last name in Czech means "Cross" or 'of the cross' or 'near the cross' when used as a surename.. Probably very similar in the other Slavic languages also as they're all very, very similar.

1. I'm a French-Canadian with German and French (precisely Briton) ancestry.
2. I'm born in Ontario, Canada, but mostly grew up in the Montreal, Quebec area but also lived in the United States for a little bit. :)
3. I consider myself a true Gen-Xer. :D ('80's kid!)
4 I'm very eclectic in my tastes and interests. I love music from all styles, basically. I can listen to Edith Piaf, then Supertramp, then to Louis Armstrong then to Antonio Vivaldi, then to Andrea Bocelli, then to Depeche Mode and A Flock of Seagulls! Of course, I love Gospel music! I'm also interested by practically every subject under the sun: theology, cultures, history, nature, geology, the arts, sciences, etc. etc. etc.
5.To follow-up on the above, I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge ever since I'm a little girl. Was brought up that way, thank God! I love St-Isidore-of-Seville because I can so relate to him.
6.I love historical reenactments. (I love to wear other-eras attires, i.e. Victorian or Medieval, etc.)
7. I play the guitar but it's been a long time now since I haven't picked it up.
8. I love to write, especially poetry.
9. I have sung in churches before. I'm soprano - been told I have a nice voice.
10. I'm emotionally hypersensitive and easily marvel at things.

When I was at K-State, Nebraska still had a killer football team. K-Stater's, in my opinion, had a very high respect for Nebraska even though they beat their socks off. However, I must admit that my last year in college, K-State FINALLY beat Nebraska at home. We rushed the field and tore down our own goal post (even though that's totally a retarded thing to do to your own stadium). It was a great game! We were down at half and then came back to win it. Ever since then, Nebraska kinda slid downhill. Course, K-State lost to KU this year which totally bit :sigh:
