Getting fired

I'm about to be fired from my job. They already took me out of the system and everything. When I go into work tomorrow I'll be given my firing notice.

It seems like every time I try to just find the strength to continue on, I get kicked back down again. And I can't depend on God for any kind of tangible help. I literally have some sort of mental PTSD from all the times God has let me down.

Please pray for me nonetheless. If there were ever a time for God to prove that He actually does love me and that He actually does care about any part of my life at all, it would be now. I've never felt more unloved, broken, and worthless in my entire life.

I'm being let go because I was struggling for a time last year and it affected my attendance at work and the mark on my record doesn't go away for 12 months and I was late today because I misread the starting time of my shift and wrote it down wrong and had to attend a funeral I wasn't planning on attending (I didn't know the man who passed away at all and I don't know his daughter who is my mother's friend very well either) thinking that I was gonna show up on time. I was also late last week because the weather was so bad that it caused an unexpected traffic jam that made me 2 minutes late. I'm getting fired because that mark on my record from when I was struggling and sick was tacked on with these recent tardies. My bosses understand but the company does not.

Now, when I apply for other jobs, they'll see why I was fired and won't hire me on.

I've been there too like back in 1994, my dad passed away at the age of 55, I was newly married, I turned in 6 W-2s for that year. Take today and reevaluate the type of work you are doing. When I've been unexpectedly let go, I take the next 48 hours to start that dreaded job hunt. I first get my resume polished and notify friends that I am looking and to let me know if they hear of any openings. I also apply to temp agencies as then I have two things going for me, income and a sense of purpose to get up each morning. I'm always happy to review resumes so feel free to message me.

You act like getting fired is a bad thing. How can you improve your situation if you do not take advantage of this opportunity to find a better job. God has plans for you.

Look forward ... be positive. This is not a bad time to be looking ...

There is work out there for those that are willing to do it.

In many case, employers will disregard past employment problems.

On applications, give your supervisor's number as previous company contact.

God has said He will never leave nor forsake. You will do yourself a lot of good if you exercise faith in that word, despite all circumstances. Read Philippians 3 and 4, where Paul tells us to rejoice in all things, because it will be a protection for our hearts. If you know God is with you, you will have the strength to move forward. Try to get yourself over to the faith side by rejoicing in His goodness. Victory usually starts spiritually before it becomes manifest.

Getting fired in today's economy IS a bad thing. I'm already looking for a new job as it is. I've been looking for a new job for the last two years and have been to countless interviews. Still nothing.

That verse is taken entirely out of context. That was a promise God made to Israel alone, not for all people.

@derpytia , God HAS given you the ULTIMATE proof that he loves you by sending His Son to die in your place to pay for your sins. God has NEVER let ANYONE down but we continue to let Him down every hour of our life. God is not here to serve you, but you are here to serve God and glorify His Holy name.

Lord, it is easy to praise You when things go the way WE want them to go. Job showed us in Job 1:21 how to glorify You in spite of things not going well for us. I can complain at the smallest of things. When will I ever learn. Psalms 34:1 speaks of blessing You at All times. You never change. You are perfect in all Your ways. You are always worthy of all praise. It displeased You when Israel complained in Numbers 11: 1. May we see negative things as opportunities to glorify You in praise in spite of these temporary negative things. Romans 8:18 should remind us that in comparison to the ETERNAL glory that awaits us, being shipwrecked, stoned and left for dead, and all the other things Paul experienced, as well as all these dreadful things that happen to us today are nothing to get bent out of shape about. May we face our pettiness now in this life and repent of our complaining and accusations against You, and not leave that undone until we face You face to face and be so ashamed of ourselves. Amen.

I'm not fired. Apparently my tardies from last year expired yesterday and the tardy I had yesterday didn't register in the system because the system had an outage yesterday.

I am very lucky and very grateful!

You can bet I apologized to God and thanked Him for saving my job...
