I have been thinking about renting that, but I don't know anyone that has seen it. Is it any good?

Yeah, we had the free HBO/Cinemax weekend a couple of weeks ago on DirecTV and I caught Constantine. I understand it was based on a comic book/graphic novel. The basic idea is that John Constantine is a guy who is gifted to see angels and demons and other bad stuff like that. He works to "deport" the demons back to hell in order to earn his way into heaven (because he did something bad that I won't give away). It is a pretty good action movie with good special effects, but it relies on the secularized/paganized idea that God rules in heaven while Satan rules in hell and that they are fighting it out here on Earth for the souls of mankind. There are "rules" that prevent them or their angels/demons from directly acting in our world, but they can still influence us. Plus, there are "half-breeds" that are part angel or demon, who can play a direct role, and these (along with possessed people) are the main ones that Constantine fights. Overall, I'd say rent it for fun but just don't count on it for any spiritual insights or anything like that.

I used to want to be a writer, and was even advised by my grade 12 English teacher that I had a gift for writing and should pursue it as a career (my final grade in that class was 98%). Since then, I think I've lost my writing ability. It doesn't help that I've never been able to think of anything interesting to write about.
