German bishop demands Church ‘widen its understanding of the family’ to include homosexual unions

Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck’s comments are the latest direct attack on perennial Catholic teaching from the German hierarchy.

(LifeSiteNews) – A German bishop said that the Catholic Church should “widen” its understanding of the family to include every form “where people live with children,” including homosexual couples.

When bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck was asked in an interview by katholisch.de if the Catholic Church needs to “widen its understanding of the family,” Overbeck replied, “It is high time that she does that.”

“
Family is where people live with children,” the German prelate stated. “No form of family offers aguarantee of stability and security. That’s why it’s also difficult to adhere completely uncritically to just one ideal form of family.”

Asked if homosexual couples could be good parents, Overbeck responded, “Why shouldn’t they be? It is not a matter of moralizing at this point, but of developing perspectives together for good pastoral care of all family models with all the people living in them.”

The guy sounds like he is very, very definitely being led and guided by malign spiritual influences. Satan doesn't want to harm the Church by attacking it, but rather by absorbing it, transforming it into something closer to his own liking as the diabolical prince of this world.

He reminds me of our own American liberals who believe that the only way to "save" America is to burn it to the ground, to utterly eradicate it, so it can be re-built into something totally alien to itself. Not unlike the Army commander in Vietnam who stated, "In order to save the village, it was necessary to destroy it."
