They are more conservative financially or fiscally. But they have zero chance of winning a presidential election voting for them it’s just a wasted vote. Until they can poll at least 30% or more I won’t consider voting for them.

The problem for republicans is that since Trump turned the party away from them, many of them (like Will and Kristol) won't consider voting republican now.

From what I'm seeing among many conservatives, they'll end up voting for Trump
if he's the GOP Candidate, merely because they know it upsets the left.

Personally, both parties are going to be in trouble in 2024 if they stick with Trump, or Harris.

Tulsi Gabbard would be the best choice for the Democrats, but they've gone too far
left to support her.

If Trump had not pushed through the vaccines and rush those through for proof of the pandemic would be much worse than actually is.

Here's the issue that probably destroyed his chances for a 2nd term:

A group of researchers from Columbia University say that between 130,000 and 210,000 Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. could have been avoided were it not for the government’s “abject failures” in managing the crisis — blaming an administration that was slow to act, ignored experts, and failed to adapt and improve over the course of the pandemic, as well as “woefully inadequate” contact tracing and testing and the lack of any national mask mandate or guidance.
Report: At Least 130,000 Covid-19 Deaths Were Avoidable, Trump Administration An ‘Abject Failure’

That, and his admission that he knew it was going to be bad, and deliberately told us otherwise, is mostly why we fired him.

There's some of that. It's selling well on the far right, where America is less valued than being on the winning side. But that idea has destroyed republican support in suburbs and exurbs, where the strength of the party always resided.

Last Thursday, Donald Trump held a rally in Louisiana to support Republican gubernatorial candidate Eddie Rispone. At the rally, Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy asserted that he, Trump, and Rispone stood with ordinary everyday folks against the purported condescension of the Democratic Party and its “cosmopolitan, goat’s milk latte–drinking, avocado toast–eating insider’s elite.” (While “goat’s milk lattes” don’t appear to be widely available, the Post noted it was possible the senator was either riffing on or misunderstanding the increasing availability of oat milk at many coffee shops.)
...
In another way, though, Kennedy was right. Republicans do alienate many voters who eat avocado toast and drink lattes. The problem for Kennedy is that his stereotypes about what regular people eat vis-à-vis “elites” are out of date: Good coffee and brunch dishes that use fresh produce are available not just on the Upper East Side and in Harvard Square but all over the country, including in many traditionally conservative suburban areas. And Republicans can’t actually afford to write off the people who live in those places, as was made clear Saturday, when Edwards won reelection by defeating Trump and Kennedy’s friend Rispone.
...
Edwards won 60 percent of voters in Jefferson Parish, which until recently was, as they say, a Republican stronghold—Hillary Clinton only got 41 percent there. His strong showing in the New Orleans suburbs resembled Democratic Kentucky Gov.-elect Andy Beshear’s showing in the Louisville and Lexington suburbs earlier this month, which resembled Democratic congressional candidates’ showings in places like Orange County, California, in the 2018 midterms—which resembled Democratic Alabama Sen. Doug Jones’ showing in the Birmingham suburbs in 2017. The Dems have made major gains in those regions
...
As Democratic operative Brian Fallon put it presciently in 2017, the party’s path to retaking political power ran “through the Panera Breads of America,” and there are few items you can order at Panera that don’t have (bleep) avocados on them. Guess what, Kennedy? Regular people like good coffee and faux-bourgeois food too. You’d know that if you left the George and went into a Panera occasionally. You snob.

It Is Actually a Big Problem for Republicans That They’re Losing Voters Who Eat Avocado Toast

So you expected Trump during the middle of a bogus impeachment hearing to issue mask mandates and travel bans? His hands were tied at the start of the pandemic due to the bogus impeachment trial

I notice that no other president subject to impeachment, abandoned America to focus on the impeachment. Why do you think it was O.K. for Trump to cause hundreds of thousands of Americans to die because he was busy trying to save himself?

His hands were tied at the start of the pandemic due to the bogus impeachment trial

They weren't tied. He retained all his powers through the whole process. He just didn't care if all those people died.

Other presidents didn't panic and abandon their responsibilities when impeachment processes went on.

There were 6,000 Americans evacuated, and intelligence estimates that there were maybe 100 left who might want to leave, but could not get to Kabul.

Yesterday:
KABUL: A Qatar Airways flight on Friday took more Americans out of Afghanistan, according to Washington's peace envoy, the third such airlift by the Mideast carrier since the Taliban takeover
More Americans leave Kabul; UN says political stability needed in Afghanistan

It's unclear if they didn't want to go at first, or if they just couldn't get to the capital in time. But the Taliban is cooperating in getting them out of the country.
