  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I dont know about you, but I never seen a bear be anything other than a bear, have you?

So you are saying only things that we actually experience in our lifetimes can be considered real?

So much for your bible tales! More self-foot-shooting from the creationist camp!
Seems you are the one in need of rescue with your ad-hoc make believe common ancestors that you cant find on any single tree where these made up ad-hoc splits are to have occurred.

Yet another creationist that thinks it is not ridiculous to pontificate on things they do not understand.

So precious how you co-opt words I used to try to formulate a counter argument, except that maybe you don't know what those words mean?

Because the 'splits' are anything BUT 'ad hoc'.

..... yes, rescue your dead theory with imaginary non-existent common ancestors. Whatever it takes to rescue the theory, right?

Well, I suppose I could just claim it is all hybridization from identical breeding pairs like you do...
But you see, the problem with indels, is that in order for something to be deleted, it must first exist. So basically the fact that every animal undergoes indels, just shows they were once more genetically diverse than they are now.

LOL!

My gosh... That literally makes no sense at all - that is almost as inept and absurd as claiming that inbreeding pairs create new species by mixing pre-existing alleles!

Stick to making models, pal.

-_- I wouldn't call it a bear if I did, now would I?

Check out my Triops experiment where generation 8 has indisputably longer tails than the first generation did, and I couldn't hybridize these guys if I wanted to because they are self-fertilizing hermaphrodites. I want you to watch.

Then how come populations of bacteria, all of which are derived from the same ancestral bacterium, can acquire genes via mutation which that original cell didn't have despite their genomes not simply shortening or building up only junk?

If traits were only lost, bacteria and viruses would have disappeared ages ago.
