Genealogies and Cain

I was reading Genesis today & noticed that Cain has a seperate genealogy than Adam. (Genesis 4:17-23)

He is not mentioned in Adam's line at all. (Genesis 5:1-32)

Any thoughts why this is?

The first you mention was just to talk about Cain's line. The second to trace the path of the promise that was to be given to Abraham.

I want to know why he isn't mentioned.

I find that strange.

Why is it strange, I gave a good explaination for it.

are you asking why he is not in the geneology in gen 5? Abel isn't mentioned either. why? Because it was tracing the path of the promise God would give to abraham. The line of Christ...is that clearer? Luke does appox. the same thing.

Sorry, I can be kinda thick headed.

I've always had a problem with those geneologies.

But does that exclude Cain from God's promise?

I've always wondered what became of him.

Well in terms of the promice, we don't know, I think we will find out when we get to heaven. I would say he was excluded since we see no repentance from him at all.
