  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just realized how expensive everything is getting lately. I just looked up how much it would cost to go from my town (California) to Pennsylvania (pittsburgh) and it's like 400 to 500 dollars (depending on the day you go) and then I went to Greyhound which I thought would be like major less expensive. There's is about 300 to 350! And the companies wonder why nobody wants to go with either the bus or train???? Especially in light of all the terrorist threats?? I would think for the train it should be about 200 dollars. The other day I looked up how much for planes and there's actually a flight from San Fran to Pitt for like 180 ROUND TRIP! Unfortunately I really hate planes and my dad isn't willing to drive to San Fran.

I just can't believe some companies can't get it through their skulls. So the question of the day is......do you think it's too expensive to go by train or bus long distances???

The answer is yes.

The reasons are many. For starters, they use up fuel and that's expensive. Second, they have maintenance costs. Third, they have to set a price so that if the vehicle(bus, train, or plane) isn't full to capacity, that they will still have a slight profit or little loss.

Forget the terrorism. Why are you afraid? How many people have died in the US of terrorism since Sept. 11? Besides, your a Christian. You have a pretty good idea of where your going when you die so you shouldn't be afraid of going out of your house.:)

Fear is for people with phobias anyway :p :D

Seriously though, I agree. Trains and busses are WAY to expensive in the states. THe UK now... that's about the only thing I really liked better about that country compared to ours. They have a killer public transportation system.
