Gecko adoption

so Im looking into this and heard you can determine the sex of the gecko babys by using heat,I have a friend who's big into doing this at schools for kids to see,quite the science project. Im seriously thinking of getting some geckos for my little sister to have as a first reptile.Any gecko owners? post please

I was given a gecko about 2 yrs ago and really never knew very much about them sadly enough. I sort of have a small animal rescue going in my apt. Anyway, he was very old and finally passed away several months ago.

What I did notice is: Geckos are very neat pets. They are sooooooooooooo very quiet, easy to feed, clean up after etc. I had a leopard gecko and he was very timid. Never bit anyone.

Make sure you have a good heat lamp or rock for them and plenty of space for them to have fun in and some neat trees and rocks to hide behind/under. Plus plenty of water for them to drink and wade in.

I always wondered if we should have gotten him/her a buddy but was told that should have been done when he/she was younger -- it was too late to add one. Not sure how true that is.

I never heard of checking the sex of a gecko that way before. I learned something new!

My son has a few geckos and they are really neat pets. Easy to clean, easy to keep. And if you train it well, it does the moon walk LOL (Geiko commercial)
