Most people cannot pronounce Gebuwrah Barakel so they call him Jeb. He is among the elite of the elven warrior class, a Bladesinger.

Physical Description:

Race: Elf, Gender: Male, Ht: 5'6", Wt: 142, Age: 471, Hair: Black, Eyes: Grey, Skin: Tan

Jeb's body is lean and muscular, but little of his skin is seen as he wears black clothing, with a grey leather doubtlet covering his torso. His gloves, boots and a beautiful cloak are also grey. His only weapon, a simply stunning longsword, is worn on his right hip within an intricately hand-tooled, black leather scabbard. If his arms were bare a beautifully rendered tatoo of a ferocious cheetah would be visible on the entire upper portion of his right arm.

Personality:

Jeb is handsome, even by elven standards, but he doesn't appear to realize it. Women have said this only makes him more attractive, but they lament that his only concern appears to be for defending his God, his people and his country. Jeb would say he simply hasn't met the right woman yet and that he's not even 500 years old so he isn't in any great rush. However, this is not the truth.

The reality is that while Jeb is superbly adept in combat, and has many other skills, he is quite shy around women. He won't explain the nervous feeling that overwhelms him upon meeting people of the fairer sex. Observers simply note he becomes flustered around ladies of any friendly race, except dwarves. For some reason he is just fine around dwarven women and some have even called him a flirt! Jeb is quite embarrassed by this particular foible in his personality and would be extremely humiliated should it become common knowledge. What he doesn't realize is that most women seem to sense this about him right off, but men never do.

Background

The reason Jeb is shy is that he HAS found the love of his life, and lost her. As a young elf in Rossesilia Jeb grew up in a happy home with two older sisters. He was raised to appreciate women for all that they are, whether they be beauties or wallflowers, geniuses or simpleminded, talented or clumsy. Jeb is a man who takes no woman for granted and finds something special in every woman he meets. His mother said this was a gift from Elohim, but ironically it was this gift that is blamed for breaking up the family.

When he was still rather young, just on the verge of manhood, Jeb met a human girl who took his breath away. His friends and family saw her as no threat because she wasn't a great beauty nor was she particularly intelligent. She didn't even belong to a wealthy family. What she DID have was greater than these and all the riches of the world combined. Trudy was alive with joy and she was wise beyond her years. Everyday was a new life to her and she lived to the full. Trudy filled Jeb's days with laughter and his nights with longing. Her love of Elohim and her lust for life commanded his attention and captured his heart. When he announced to his parents that he wanted to join his life with Trudy's they were outraged. This reaction shocked and dismayed Jeb for he thought they only wanted his happiness. He thought that if they would just meet Trudy they would fall as much in love with her as he had. Sadly, the opposite was true and they were impossibly rude to the kind girl who had made their son so happy.

Jeb was enraged by his family's treatment of the woman he loved. He gave them an ultimatum and, unfortunately, they forced Jeb's hand. Taking only what he could carry in his saddlebags Jeb and Trudy left Rossesilia and tried to make a life near Trudy's family. They were not as violently opposed to the union as Jeb's family, but they made it clear he was not welcome in their lives. So, the couple journeyed to the Golden Forest to make a life on their own. They married in a human ceremony first and later found an elven cleric to formalize their committment in the elven tradition as well. They had some very happy times, and some sad ones too. No matter how they tried, children would not be a part of their life together.

They did not allow this to mar the happiness they shared in one another, they simply saw it as a challenge they would overcome...together. They settled in the Lumloria area and Jeb was recruited by the Lumlorian guard for a difficult assignment. After three years together they were still trying for a family, when tragedy struck. Jeb had been working to improve the outlying villages' defenses against bandits and raiders from Ember and he was quite successful. So successful that an assassin was sent to end the villagers' resistance to the raiders' thievery. The attack was not subtle, nor was it well planned. Early one morning a fire bomb was thrown into Jeb and Trudy's small cabin, engulfing the cozy home in flames immediately. Trudy was inside preparing Jeb's breakfast, and Jeb was in the woods hunting for that night's supper. Trudy did not escape the blaze, but it was determined she died quickly, though the incendiary device was thrown at the wrong target the assassin's aim was true and nothing but ash was left of Trudy Barakel.

After the death of his beloved wife Jeb withdrew into himself, rarely letting any of his old joy show. Eventually a shyness came over him so that he can barely socialize with women. Whenever he meets a nice young woman he is reminded of his one true love and how she always saw good in nearly everyone and everything. He still has his gift, but now it is almost too painful to bear.

Jeb still has no clues as to who performed the tragically botched assassination that took his Trudy, or who contracted it, though he has spent over two hundred and fifty years trying. Finally, he has all but given up, thinking the perpetrators are probably long dead by now, or too well hidden and protected to find. Since Trudy's death he has travelled Ithiriya, helping others whenever he can and always living up to the Bladesinger's code of conduct, but always he has been haunted by Trudy's memory and the dream of what might have been.

P.S. His name is in the Hebrew language, can anyone tell me what it means? I'll give 100 blessings to the first one that correctly (or at least accurately translates it). Please pm your responses.
