G'day!

My name is John & I'm new here.
A little about myself...
Australian Christian for 50+ years...
Retired from paid work and now working for the Lord...
I'm a Christian blogger, pod-caster, author, musician, and I write for several online Christian magazines and I have an email list of Christians from all over the world that I write to on a weekly basis (sometimes more often)
I also home-school a 14 year old grandson who has learning challenges, although I think it's more like "teenager wrangling"

Seriously... since retiring I have no idea where I found time to work! I'm getting tired just writing this stuff! LOL

My purpose for being here is to learn about the problems facing Christians generally and seeking ways from the word that I can help or guide them in the Lord's will.

Well...that's me in a nutshell. Good to be here & I hope to catch up with you around the forums.

Hi there & thanks. Yes, busy doesn't even begin to cover it. I'm typing this in spurts as I am homeschooling my 14 YO grandson...it's like herding cats! LOL

When I read the rules of the forums I seemed to recall that we were not supposed to post personal web links and so on. I'm not sure if there is a PM function on the forum (I haven't looked for one to be honest). But if you type my name followed by "christian" (i.e. john lemmon christian) you'll find a bunch of stuff including articles I've written for Christian Today online magazine as well as my blog.

Ahh! A kindred spirit! LOL! Crazy isn't it? Retirement changes things, especially when you go from "workin' for the man" to "working for the Lord." I have found this second stage of my life so much more satisfying and valuable than my working life.

God bless and keep up the good work...but don't overdo it! LOL

Thanks. Y'know, it's sort of strange because I don't even think about it any more. It's just what I do for the Lord as best I can to serve His will. I even have those days when I feel I have to do more, give more, be more, as I am sure we all do at times. And then I get brought back down to earth remembering that Jesus said:

28 Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (John 6:28-29)

It doesn't matter what we do, to do the works and the will of God we just have to believe and have faith in Jesus. Works won't get us into the kingdom. It's all about faith. But works is how we serve Him by serving His people.

Anyway...hope to catch up in the forums.

I used to feel like that that doing more for God would somehow make me a better christian,as if I could earn his favor.Now Im involved in ministrys since I love serving the Lord and love the Lord with all my heart.
