Unless you are an Orthodox Jew, stop living in the OT. If you pick and choose from the OT, you are a hypocrite. Do you know what else was an abomination in the OT? Eating pork or touching the skin of a dead pig. I don't know about you, but I love my bacon and playing football.
Jesus was sent to die for our sins; past, present and future. Through Jesus we are given a new covenant with only 2 commandments:
1. Love God [unconditionally]
2. Love other people [unconditionally]
You can talk to a gay about his lifestyle, but do not judge. It is his decision whether or not to go straight, and whether or not to accept Jesus as his savior.
Oh for heavens sake. You are NOT a progressive Baptist, that much is ultra clear. I challenge you to find progressive Christians who would agree with you that gays can make a decision about whether to go straight. This notion of being saved from sins and accepting Jesus as savior is also not a progressive idea. I am not a baptist, but I recognise a fake progressive when I see one.
The OT foreshadows the NT. That doesn't mean that no one can reference the OT. In fact, the moral law has not changed - it is now written on our hearts.
And yes, I do intend to call you out.
(Please note, I am not making any comments about whether or not I consider homosexuality sinful and nor am I making any statement about whether or not people should engage in same sex marriage or same sex activities.)
