  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you own, and have played any of the following games, then please tell me how much you liked them, and whatever you did not like about them.

If you don't own these games, and just wanna play GTA and stuff, then don't pick on me...just go in some other thread. Ha.

So, anyway, here are the games I am curious about. Did they all stink, or were any interesting?

Game Cube:
Pokemon Colloseum
Pokemon XD GAle of DArkness
Hello KItty
Digimon World 5
Harvest Moon Magical Melody
Lego Star Wars1
Lego Star Wars 2
DS/GBA:
Super Princess Peach
Harvest Moon DS
Ham Ham Rainbow Rescue

(You may also want to keep in mind that I LIKED Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Channel, and Ham-Ham's Unite, when you respond.)

OK< I will try to pick up the lego star wars, then. Thanks guys!

Also, Mewtwo, I only played POkemon Channel and Pokemon Snap, regarding Pokemon games. I got Pokemon, I think yellow, or something, atage sale, for my GB, but did not play it yet. So, I have not played much for POkemon games.
Were you reccomending POkemon XD Gale of DArkness or Colloseum or both?

^^ ^Some of us just aren't entertained much by the whole genre of First-Person-Shooters. I also can't say I'm all that keen on most RPG's or Strategy games. Does that mean I think those genres are bad? Of course not, they definately have their followings and there are obviously some great games on them. I just personally don't enjoy the genres that much (exceptions are Goldeneye, Age of Empires, and all the Mario RPGs... except Mario RPG itself...)

Now back on topic.

Pokemon Colloseum - I started it but didn't end up going to far into it. I think it was partly because I haven't played the Advance series of Pokemon, I'd recommend playing an Advance Pokemon game before playing either Colloseum or XD.
EDIT: Just realised you put down that you like Snap and Channel, just thought I should warn you that the normal Pokemon series are very different to these games and can also be quite complicated when it comes down to it. As mentioned before, I recommend playing an Advance Pokemon game beforehand, so you can see if you like the style of gameplay, as it is exactly the same, and also so you can come to an understanding of how it works, as diving straight into Colloseum or XD could have the potential of being quite confusing.

Lego Star Wars - I really enjoyed this game when I borrowed it. It was amazing - a movie liscensed game that was actually good and also had its own charm and attention to detail, which might explain why it felt very similar to one of Nintendo's games to me. However, it was short, I easily finished it in an evening with a friend (co-op mode adds a lot to the game), but it was great fun. Make sure you've seen the movies beforehand though, as there are many funny moments based on them.

Super Princess Peach - If you love Mario games, and that particular 'Nintendo charm' like I do (the kind of charm found in the Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi games, among others), then there's a good chance you will like this one. It's fairly easy, but its very enjoyable and I also found it kind of relaxing it its own way. Its got a lot of stuff to collect and even makes you go through the game again when its adds new items to the levels, so it has fairly good replay value if you want to collect everything, however I haven't really had an urge to play it since. The game is also filled with classic Mario enemies, some which haven't been in a game since the Nes or Snes days.

Hope these opinions help you.

I think you are missing out on a huge portion of what the game-world has to offer.

There ARE shooter games with less blood. Battlefield 2 is a great example, great for the hand-eye and reflexes.

I have Metroid Prime 1 and 2. Don't they count?

I just don't think that "shooting" is all that interesting. I like exploration, colorful worlds, etc.

Now that was a very helpful reply!

As to Pokemon Colloseum, I realize it wouldn't be like the ones I played. I do have Pokemon gold or yellow, or something for GB orGBC. Maybe I should play through that first....

As to the Star Wars games. I have seen all the original Star Wars movies, and liked them all. And I guess I will be getting the games, since everyone thinks they are fun.

Yes, we love all things Mario, and have the Mario and Luigi games, and the New Super Mario Bros. and all that, so if people who like that will, like it then I will get it.
