HEY! I recently got a new game-Black and White-and it is a little contriversal, in my opinion. I was wondering what everyone else thought, for those of you who have played the game

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not sure. I've played it, and haevn't really had a huge problem with it.
I wasn't thinking of it as being "God" though, I think the game DOES keep saying that though, come to think of it (disclaimer: I don't own it, I've just ... actually never played it! just watched my friend play it, hehe).

I played it. Black and white. My personal verdict is that it's boring as. Just so uninteresting.

That's a game I wouldn't take seriously. I've heard it's a good game though. Not having played it I can't comment on any controversial subject matter. I look at it as a sim city expansion.

I got to play around with it a bit and didnt care much for it. I personally didnt feel to classify it as evil but I was not so comfortable role playing a god. I did learn something from the game and that was that the real world is lucky that I dont have a mythological creature ready to bid to my every whim. I can think of better games to spend my time on.

hey! thanks for all the repies! i've been playing the game, trying to decide what i should do about it (i owe my parents a few bucks for it, so i thought i would at least give the game a shot, even though i am having second thoughts about it). I think it wouldn't be so contriversial (did i spell that right?) if they didn't blatently call you god.
