Game: An adventure...

[MMXII]

Come along. I've seen this in another thread and thought it would be some fun if we went on an adventure. Let your imagination and writing skills shine. If you like writing in third person (which I do at times) don't forget to use the "/me" thingie like this.../me is going on an adventure and it shows up like this...

/me is going on an adventure.

Ok, here goes.

After the plane crash with all the Fab 40's bunch, we find ourselves on a deserted island with nothing but: a dry erase marker, 4 packs of crackers, a tube of waterproof matches, a magnifying glass, a Bible, a machete, a can of sardines, a flashlight, some candles and a parachute. We wake up on the beach, soaked to the bone and huddle around on the sand and come up with a plan of action. This is Survivor Fab 40's style.

/me pokes around in the sand with a piece of driftwood.

Ok, what the heck are we going to do?

 

[Theofilus]

* Theofilus looks around bewildered.

What happened? Where am I?... I'm hungry.

/me eats a box of crackers and a can of sardines. Then he sees MMXII looking at him.

Oh... Hi, MMXII. You want some sardines? There's one left.

 

[MMXII]

Are you nuts!!! That's the only food we have.

/me snatches the sardines away from Theo.

Now Theo, we must share and come up with a plan. I think those are coconuts on that tree. Can you shimmy up there and cut some down?

 

[Theofilus]

Er... Um.... I'm sorry. :o I didn't realize that was all we had... I'll go see what I can find.

/me climbs the tree MMXII pointed to and throws down some coconuts. After climbing down again, he goes farther into the woods and comes back with his arms full of bananas, mango and some fruit he doesn't recognize.

I saw a cave back there. We can use it for shelter. There's also small stream close by so we have fresh water.

 

[MMXII]

Mmmmm...Theo, that looks like a feast. You are a good scout. This is a beautiful island, after we get settled in maybe we can explore around and see if there are any other people here.

/me peels a banana and munches on it.

I wonder how or if we will get rescued.

 

[andiesmama]

/me grabs the machete and says,

"Well, it's not doing any good just sitting around wet and cold! I'm going to head out & find some wood to make a fire! Anybody want to come? We probably shouldn't be going out alone."

 

[Theofilus]

/me goes with andiesmama to look for firewood

I wonder if we'll run into any natives.

 

[~Wisdom Seeker~]

/me puffs out her chest with great bravado and says boastingly "I'll protect you!"

Everyone looks at her amused at the inapropriateness of her tone of voice at this tense moment. Then, they notice the crazed look in her eye...(something they've long suspected...SHE'S NUTS!) just before she breaks out into the "Mighty Mouse" song. And they roll over in a fit of laughter...forgetting about the cold and the noticeable lack of sardines eaten by a once ravenous man.

/me says "Well, I didn't say what I would save you from."

*snickering to herself* Because she only intended to lighten the mood with a little humor. ...The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

/me says " Aw, don't be mad... what can I do to help?"

 

[andiesmama]

/me and Theofilus return from searching for the firewood...both loaded down with plenty to make a couple huge bonfires.

"You'll never guess what we found out there!"

 

[MMXII]

Hey Laurenda, lets make a fire while Andiesmama and Theo tells us what they found.

 

[Tattered]

I hope it isn't more fruit!

/me grabs a banana leaf and runs for the nearest bush!

 

[andiesmama]

"No, it's NOT more fruit...sheesh!"

/me snickers at Tatterd's plight....

"Really, you guys'll just have to see it to believe it! I don't think this is any DESERTED island..."

 

[MMXII]

/me and Laurenda make a nice roaring fire.

Pretty good banana's eh Tattered? Ok Andiesmama, let's hear what you and Theo have found.

 

[Tricia4Jesus]

Tricia4Jesus wakes up cold and wet, two things she hates most in this world, looks around sees the palm trees swaying in the breeze, and notices the pure white sand beneath her hand.

"Yep I am definately not in Kansas anymore."

 

[Theofilus]

No, Tricia, you are not in Kansas. And when you hear what andiesmama and I just saw, you'll realize just how far from Kansas we are.

/me turns to andiesmama and says

You tell them, I'm still in shock from what we saw.

 

[Tricia4Jesus]

Looks at Theophilis with wide eyes full of wonder.

"Do tell... you have my complete attention"

 

[andiesmama]

/me takes a deep breath, and wonders if this revelation will make everyone run screaming for the hills....

"Ok you guys. No reason to be alarmed, I mean....who knows what this means? While we were searching for the wood, we stumbled upon a humongous...."

/me is interrupted by Theo who evidently couldn't keep the revelation to himself anymore....

Theo says, "Let ME tell them! Let ME tell them!"

 

[Theofilus]

Ok... We were in the woods looking for firewood when we came to a clearing. I noticed that there was a cliff at the other end of the clearing and went to look to check if I could see anything usefull. I saw a huge canyon and noticed that down in the middle of it, there was something shiny. We went to see what it was and when we got closer it.... started.... humming.....

*Theo's voice trails off into silence and he can't say any more, too shocked by what he has seen.*

 

[andiesmama]

/me pats Theo on the back & gives him a banana..."comfort food" you know.

/me picks up the tale....

"Well, we'll give you guys the good news first....from what we could tell, it was a HUGE cross made out of some kind of metal!!"

Everyone looks confused, "Good news? Well, what could be the bad news about that?"

/me took a deep breath and told them the rest of it...

"However, carved into the metal were pictures of HUMAN SKULLS and weird cryptographic symbols!!!! We also found this laying on the ground..."

/me holds out a piece of paper with a map on it, seeming to be a map of whatever island they all were stranded on. She said,

"We didn't have time to really check out the map because all that humming was really starting to mess with our heads!!"

 

[worldwatcher]

ww shudders and gets closer to look at the map.

This is spooky...umm I wonder what the humming noise was. Hey theo are you OK? your looking a little pale.

ww grabs a banana,and gets up slowly still stiff from the crash

I think I will go take a quick look around.
