  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is this Ok.....I'm going into my 14th week on Friday. Since I got pregnant I've gained 7 lbs? With my last pregnancy I gained alot of weight (45 lbs) largely because I was pregnant with twins and my Dr told me to eat alot. Then at my 23rd week I found out I had lost one. I was very hypoglycemic with that pregnancy so I was constantly eating. I lost all the weight since.
So now with this pregnancy I'm trying not to gain alot of weight. So now I feel aweful I gained this amount now. I haven't walked at all, even though I promised I would. This due to the weather, I don't want to take my son out in the cold. Plus for some reason he starts crying now when we put him in his stroller, he never did this before. So I feel stuck.
Help.

While watching TV(normally a cooking show) I sit on the floor and do my excercizes, stretching getting my body awake and limber. According to kraft.com if you do 15 minutes of housework such as vacumming, mopping, sweeping it counts as excercize...also if you add some music and dance while cleaning and get your heart rate up, it's even better.

I live in IL, it's been so gray out lately I'm using lights at 10am.

I'm 10wks pregnant and have gained 7.6lbs.

I think women worry too much about their weight when pregnant. Some women are meant to gain a lot of weight and others only a little. I gained 42lbs with my daughter but lost 27lbs on delivery. As long as you are eating healthy and keep fairly active then I wouldn't worry about the actual number of pounds.

Well they say your only supposed to gain 3-4 lbs in your first trimester then 1 lb every week after that.
LOL, when I said I gained 45 lbs with my son I meant after delivery. I started off (pre-pregnancy) at 140 lbs , at my last appt before I had him I weighed 209 lbs. So I was left with all this extra weight. Thank God I lost it all before I got pregnant again.
So now that I think I'm showing. I don't know if its that I look pregnant or that I'm just looking at fat. Its good to know I'm not the only one. I've been getting sick of women saying that they are losing weight at this stage. :sigh:

Women "tend" to gain a little more weight and show earlier with their 2nd and more babies. It's just normal for some of us.

My weight gains were all over the place... With #1 I gained 10lbs as soon as I got pregnant! I've gained totals of 13 lbs - 45 lbs with different pregnancies. (The 13lb pregnancy was with #9, and wasn't very healthy... I was missing the "good" fats in my diet and it affected my milk quality. Once I added Virgin Coconut Oil to my diet~ my baby was already 5mos old by this time~, my own health, the health of my baby, and my milk were 100% better. I seriously wish I'd known about it during my pregnancy!)
