My brother is involved in a G12 format church, and it really has me concerned. On the surface, everything seems okay, but it rubs my spirit the wrong way if you will. Anyone have any experience with this model or know anyone who attends a G12 church? What do you think of them?

Never heard of it, so I looked it up. Here is some general info.

Kind of reminds me of one of those pyramid schemes - one guy has to go out and disciple 12 people, teaching them once a week until they are ready to go out and get 12 disciples of their own...repeat.

A "leader" takes a 9 month course and is suddenly able train disciples? Good luck with that.

How annoying that they will continually invite non-Christians to meetings until they convert, despite making their non-interest known. I can't believe they think pestering people is a good way to win converts.

JayCeeGirl, I don't know anything about the g12 church. However, I think this forum may not be the best place to ask this question. This is the non-Christian religions forum. You're going to be getting a lot of responses from people who neither believe in Jesus Christ nor acknowledge his supremacy over all of creation, and who reject the Bible as the word of God. If you're looking for answers based in Scripture, I suggest one of the congregational forums. Semper Reformanda would be a good place to go. The people there tend to be good at recognizing heresy for what it is.

JayCeeGirl, I think Arunma makes an excellent point here. If you're a Christian and this church is purporting to be some form of Christianity, you'd probably get a more useful response in a Christian area?

However, the statement that no one here believes in Jesus Christ and that we reject the Bible as the Word of God is incorrect. Ah, but that's a topic for another thread, I suppose.

Good luck finding out g12 though. Just putting on my old Christian shoes for a moment, it does sound a little dubious to me. Witnessing is important, surely, but the manner of it seems more like a business and I don't see any theological underpinnings for it.
