Well, I personally think minor differences don't matter that much. For the most part, we all worship the same God and believe that Jesus Christ His son died to save us from sin. God sent His Holy Spirit out into the world.

Differences in how we worship, or small differences in how we interpret Scripture, seem so much less important in context.

I think as far as saying that all are valid goes- well, how else could you reach a compromise? It's just an attempt to end destructive theological bickering and unite the various denominations. It's more of a stance of "all are right until someone demonstrates that his denomination has been given the absolute truth!"

P.S. Salve, my fellow Latin nerd ;)

My point is - Being denominational means to believe that no ONE church has a monopoly on God or on the Truth. Funnier still that the Reformers were NON-denominational Just like the Catholic church was in that day. To be non-denominational is to be Sectarian which means that you believe that YOUR church and your church ALONE has the Truth of the faith and that all others are lost.

The meanings of the words in question have done a total flip flop.

"Non-denom" is really meaningless. It's a way for puffed up people to help themselves feel even more self-righteous than they already do. "Me? Oh, I'm non-denominational!" Yippeeeeee...
Higgaion this is sorta inflamatory. Most non-denoms I know aren't puffed up at all. Classifying people into boxes is always a bad idea IMO.

Funny, I never thought of myself as "puffed up."

I am a member of a non-denominational church because it is where God has placed me. It is also a place where the Bible is taught without compromise. I'm sure the same could be said of some denominational churches......

Hi there!

Just acknowledging your insult that I am "puffed up".

What arrogance... did you learn that from Christ or does "hate" just generate out of your spiritual bloodline.

I think a public apology is in order... from you... not me.

Oops, was I inflammatory? Sorry, Lana, you know I'm tryiiiiing. And I will apologize to Knight. I should have said in most cases, not all. What I mean is that non-denominational people often seem to wear it as a badge of pride, as if it puts them on a higher "ecumenical" plane than those of us who strongly identify with a particular historic religion.

As for you, Malaka...ok, same as for Knight. If that doesn't describe you, sorry.

My Religion is Christian. My approach is Franciscan. My inclination is to call all Brother who love the Lord and live in light of the Gospel by they protestant or Sacramental.

I'm just worried about the way words we use are being abused and twisted to mean other than they mean. It's like people who use the word IGNORANT to mean rude.
