Fun Song Dressup Contest!!!

Hello, everyone!


I celebrated my 50th birthday recently, so I'm going to hold a contest based on the day I had with my family and my brother and niece. One filled with music.....from the 70's in our case! lol


Here's what contestants need to do:

1. Choose a favourite song from any decade and post its title.

2. Dress your character any way you choose. lol

3. Include at least one special item of your choice.

Be creative and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Please post when you're ready and I'll take a screenshot of your character as soon as possible.


Feel free to share why the song you choose is a favourite, though this is not a judged aspect of the contest. But it'd be interesting for folk to read, I'm sure.


This contest will run through to Sunday, the 7th of September, closing at 8 pm EST.

Cute idea for contest!

This song and the later duo with Nat and daughter, Natalie, is a song my dh and I consider "our song." I think it started being "our song" when a valentine came out with the song lyrics on it...and it evolved from there. We have one other song we consider to be "our song" which is "When I Fall in Love, it Will Be Forever" also originally done by Nat King Cole and then later picked up by Celine Dion.

I edited the first post, kaykay, inviting folk to share why the song you chose is a favourite, if you wish. My parents like Nat King Cole and they used to play a few of his records quite a lot when I was a kid. The one I remember hearing the most was Rambling Rose.

All done and I found a vid of the song. I used the one put out by Donny and Marie Osmond as I used to be a fan of the Osmonds when I was a teenager. lol

Lately, I have had some probs changing but at least not with it getting "hung" like I was. (I had to change accounts over that one!) Now it just seems like sometimes it won't "save" it, but I have found if I just do again, it will take it. But sometimes I've had to do it 2-3 times to get it to "save."

By the way, clever idea for what you were already wearing, missm!

Here is my contribution to the contest, and I am ready for my screenshot.
I wear red/orangy red, the color of love and fire. It is a bold and strong color.

I have chosen the song ''You raise me up'' with the Norwegian composer of this song (at the piano, and his name is Rolf Løvland) and other members of his Norwegian/Irish band ''Secret Garden'', the solo singer Brian Kennedy, and the London Gospel Choir.

This song reminds me of that JESUS raises me up when I fall or feel down.
