  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Pastors and teachers. The two are seperated here. If they were meant to be one in the same it would be pastor-teacher.

As far as studying the Bible, I have put in as much time or more than you have. It has become clear to myself and others that you have been given the scriptures to prove God calls pastors but you choose to ignore them. I dont want to go to a church where the church called the pastor and not God, because if he is not sent by God how can we hear him, the message he brings. No matter what has been presented you will not change your mind. So I am going to do as Paul said;" And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them." You refuse to hear what we have presented from the scriptures so I am shaking the dust from my feet and unscribing from this thread. May God one day open your eyes.

That funny thank you brother I needed a laugh. No one has proven a word they have said. Except to say I feel like God has called me to Preach\Pastor. Well feelings does not cut it, give scripture proof.

So Basically your question is that you want us to prove that Gods calls Pastors, individual ones, but we cant use the examples of him doing so in Scripture to prove it because you dont like it?

Wow, how about we just guess the number of fingers behind your back instead.

I hadn't seen any scriptural proof you have put forth.

To clarify the call to preach.
God does not call one to salvation one day and several years later call him to preach. He calls everyone to preach when He calls them to Salvation. Preaching is nothing more than Hearling the Gospel. He doesn't care what method one uses, all He wants is the Gospel Spread.

The only way a man can know he is called to preach is that he is preaching. A feeling isn't what confirms it. If you aren't preaching you cannot say God has called you to it.
Yes all believers are to do whatever God gives them opportunity to do and puts in their ability to do to see that the Gospel is proclaimed. Yet not all are given the opportunity or ability to stand before eternity bound sinners and proclaim Christ.
The truth of God isn't a matter of opinion. Your opinion and my opinion are of no value and do not determine truth. That is why God established authority in the church, not to make some higher than others but to give His people men whom He has given the ability to instruct and lead with understanding in the Scriptures in order to comfort and strengthen them in the faith. Pastors aren't lords over God's flock but servants both of God and His people. A pastors job isn't to evangelize and get people saved. It is to care for the sheep; guarding them from wolves, feeding them and watching over them as one who loves them.
He does care about our methods. We are simply to preach Christ and leave the rest to God. We do not trifle with the souls of men and women.
I suspect you have been hurt awfully bad by some pastor. Either that or you have wanted to be one but was never called. You protest far too much against it.
Now before you start railing on me for not giving Scripture, I have serious doubts that you would accept any that I give so I chose not to.

Go right ahead and define it for us.
Pastor in Latin and also in Spanish is also translated as Shepherd.

In John 21:15-17 Jesus not just once but three times commanded Peter to feed and take care and specifically Shepherd His flock.

I have 5,000 Blessings for the first one that can produce verses, which proves, God calls one man to paster a Church? BTW Timothy is an Apostle not a Pastor.

Or proves with scripture that God calls one to salvation one day and years later calls the same one to preach?

No Blessings for this, but what is preaching anyway?
Is not John 21:15-17 an example of Jesus calling a man to pastor a church? Let me reiterate that pastor/shephard are synonyms. Jesus directly commanded Peter in v. 16 to Shepherd His sheep. We as sheep (believers) are a church. I would appreciate some response.

No Jesus is also telling us all to feed His Sheep, according to the great commission.

Your call to salvation and discipleship are one and the same and are not separated no where in scripture. We are all priest and all to preach (herald the Gospel).
Look at Paul’s letters he says in nearly all "called to be an Apostle. From his road to Damascus experience, till he actually was an apostle was about 3.5 to 4 yr.
The God ordained pastors of the Church are the Elder s in that Church that meet the qualifications. First for elder second for Bishop, because Elder is the man Bishop is the office.
This one man pastoral authority we have today is not biblical. Never has been never will be.
