Why is the command given us to "Walk in the Spirit"? Becuase it's very true that if we do that we are complete. But we are not literally complete ,are we?
Not complete then ... Messianic prophecies are not all completed
So even so...don't we see Jesus speaking in figures of speech...let's list a few:Ok I won't exaggerate... but it's a figure of speech , I did not really mean you spiritualize everything
He is already...What does it mean when Peter tells you in His sermon at Pentecost that Jesus was on the throne of David? It's right there in Acts 2:32-36:Ah another unfulfilled prophecy...so you believe Jesus literally returns back.. Good.. Will he then be king of Israel ? Or rule somewhere else ?.. Go back to heaven?
All I can tell you is what God's word says...it's up to you to go by God's word OVER how you feel...the passage says YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM.I don't feel complete... Still in my body .. Still gonna die... Still under human government...still not in the presence of my father
Why is the command given us to "Walk in the Spirit"? Becuase it's very true that if we do that we are complete.
Take how and what Paul tells us in Ephesians 1:3:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
We should walk in the Spirit KNOWING what we have in Christ has made us complete RIGHT NOW.
So even so...don't we see Jesus speaking in figures of speech...let's list a few:
*"You must be born again"
*"Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest."
*"I am the bread of life"
*"My sheep hear my voice"
I think my point is made.
He is already...What does it mean when Peter tells you in His sermon at Pentecost that Jesus was on the throne of David? It's right there in Acts 2:32-36:
32 This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.
33 Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.
34 For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand,
35 Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christthis Jesus whom you crucified.
Do you not understand Jesus is Lord RIGHT NOW regardless of what this world thinks...regardless of what Obama or anyone else thinks?
All I can tell you is what God's word says...it's up to you to go by God's word OVER how you feel...the passage says YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM.
dfw,
there might be some clue in the end of Acts for you, because Paul is speaking to Roman admin at Caesarea about his case. I'm not to refering to details of his defense, but what Paul spoke about other than that: righteousness (poss. justification from sins), self-control, and the judgement to come, 24:25. What I mean is that the kingdom of God's power is merely speaking of it. The kingdom is here, and it makes sense. But it does not try to establish a "state" to speak of, and there is no reference to Israel being a "state."
In fact, in 26, he says Judaism is still trying to see their hope fulfilled, but for him, it is (v23). This verse includes the intriguing phrase that he wouldn't dare go beyond what Moses and the prophets said, which was simply the two parts:
1, Messiah would suffer and rise
2, the light of this message would be proclaimed
If he was going to insert something about modern Israel, it would be right here.
No need to? My friend, you don't see the practical context. He is risking his life saying the hope of Israel is fulfilled (it is). He would love to have 'saved his neck' by saying 'but just wait a couple thousand years and you'll have your kingdom.' You need to enter the passage viscerally, understand its tensions, its risks for Paul.
Really??? Why did Jesus tell Pilate "My kingdom is not of this world"? That's was the reality...the fact is Pilate couldn't see it...which is why he asked Jesus "what is truth?"...Pilate couldn't see the truth just as those who are lost don't see the truth. We live spiritually, in the Holy Spirit, now ,by faith , as if already completed by faith ..but faith eventually becomes reality ...it is no more faith but reality
Once again you won;t grasp the reality IS the Spiritual!!! Why does Peter tell us we ARE a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people of God's OWN POSSESSION...that is the reality right now...which is why we are told we are IN the world, but not OF the world.I don't disagree with you... I'm saying now we walk in the spirit by faith
But one day out faith will be completed ...and we will no longer walk by faith... For the promises will be realized when our faith is completed.. Faith is the substance of things hope for.. And if hope then what we believe that we are complete by faith will be realized to end our hope
Jesus sits at the right hand..because Israel crucified him and rejected him... They will not be given another change to receive the kingdom of god on earth until they learn to cry... Blessed is he that comes in the name of The Lord ... Then Jesus will sit on the throne of David on earth and fulfill messianic prophecies
No it won't it is a literal kingdom that lost people don't and can't see because they are lost. When Jesus comes that kingdom COMES TO EARTH. Right now it's in heaven...which is why we pray "YOUR KINGDOM COME, Your will be done ON EARTH, as IT IS IN HEAVEN.Yes ... But the spiritual kingdom that Jesus is king of now will become a literal kingdom on earth in the future ...
I think you have it backwards...they COEXIST...this material world is here and the spiritual world is here also...THEY ARE BOTH REAL...but the one we are living by is what the difference is.Ebad the spiritual has always and will always become reality ... On earth as it is in heaven
Really??? Why did Jesus tell Pilate "My kingdom is not of this world"? That's was the reality...the fact is Pilate couldn't see it...which is why he asked Jesus "what is truth?"...Pilate couldn't see the truth just as those who are lost don't see the truth.
Once again you won;t grasp the reality IS the Spiritual!!! Why does Peter tell us we ARE a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people of God's OWN POSSESSION...that is the reality right now...which is why we are told we are IN the world, but not OF the world.
One more time...this is what Peter said at Pentecost of what David was prophesying...this is Acts 2:30, 31:
30 And so, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,
31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.
Jesus is ON THE THRONE RIGHT NOW...dfw69. The 110 Psalms says "The Lord said to MY LORD, sit at my right hand..."...what do you think Jesus is sitting on?
No it won't it is a literal kingdom that lost people don't and can't see because they are lost. When Jesus comes that kingdom COMES TO EARTH. Right now it's in heaven...which is why we pray "YOUR KINGDOM COME, Your will be done ON EARTH, as IT IS IN HEAVEN.
This is further why Paul tells us "the Jerusalem ABOVE is free, she is our mother...it is a real kingdom in existence now in heaven, that WE ARE MEMBER OF,,,which is why Peter again tells us again in 1 Peter 2:11:
11 Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.
We saints should see ourselves as "aliens and strangers" living on earth.
I think you have it backwards...they COEXIST...this material world is here and the spiritual world is here also...THEY ARE BOTH REAL...but the one we are living by is what the difference is.
If what you're saying is true why does Jesus tell us "make disciples"?
When we allow God to use us to lead others to faith in Christ, receiving the Holy Spirit...they...(like we do), begin to see the world from God's viewpoint, which is Spiritual...and they are as Paul says "translated into the kingdom of God's dear son". Now I'm on the same page as Paul...I see God's kingdom as real...a kingdom that the lost cannot see.
Colossians 1:13, 14
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
The apostle doesn't use "past tenses" for nothing...he wants you to understand that's how it is NOW!
Jesus wasn't *seeking* anything...He said "MY kingdom is not of this world". Are you reading that? It is a real kingdom. What you're doing is spinning what Jesus said dfw69. Ratification of the New Covenant abolished the Old Covenant.Because at the time Jesus was seeking a spiritual kingdom.... He had to ratify the new covenant... He still has to fulfill the messianic promises of a kingdom on earth... Jesus is coming back ebed for that purpose to fulfill Messianic prophecies
Read what I said againYou believe people who don't hold to your view are lost? What do you mean by lost?
Huh? My faith is based on the fact that God gave me the Holy Spirit as a down payment on my salvation. So my faith is based on a REAL God who has done REAL things in my life and in the life of others. I have no clue how you figure "faith is only faith until it becomes reality".I realize that the reality is our faith ... But faith is only faith until faith becomes reality...new Jerusalem come down to earth ebed ..
Epehesians 1:22Yes Jesus sits in right hand till god puts down all authority powers and dominion... So that the only kingdom standing is his...and this happens in the future at an appointed time
Once again...read what I said.I am not lost because I believe in a literal kingdom to come ebed ...neither are those who still hold to the promises of god in fulfilling our faith of ruling on earth
It's you don't see the picture. You don't seem to get the fact that the kingdom that already exist, and that you are a member. It simply changes location...that's why it comes DOWN to earth from heaven...because IT ALREADY IS!For now.. But god kingdom from heaven comes to earth in the future... And new Jerusalem comes down as well.... See the picture?
Jesus ascended "far above all the heavens". So I ask you this...where did He go? See the picture? How can his spiritual kingdom be real and of this world when you just said the spiritual kingdom is not of this world?... So if the spiritual kingdom is not of this world but in heaven in new Jerusalem ... And new Jerusalem comes down to earth in the future... Then there will be a kingdom on earth...
Why spread a gospel about a kingdom you don't think exist right now?So that they may witness to the truth on earth and the gospel may continue to spread
Please read what I said again. The lost that cannot see your views?.. The just shall live by faith.. If we live by faith and are justified by Christ .. How are we lost ?
I leave you with that. I'm complete in Jesus.Yes now ... Spiritually... In the future... Literally... When our faith is completed
Jesus wasn't *seeking* anything...He said "MY kingdom is not of this world". Are you reading that? It is a real kingdom. What you're doing is spinning what Jesus said dfw69. Ratification of the New Covenant abolished the Old Covenant.

*A real Jesus came to earth and was nailed on a cross and died.
*A real Jesus was resurrected from the dead.
*A real 12 apostles preached the gospels and did miracles in His name.
Epehesians 1:22
22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,
Already done.
It's you don't see the picture. You don't seem to get the fact that the kingdom that already exist, and that you are a member. It simply changes location...that's why it comes DOWN to earth from heaven...because IT ALREADY IS!
Jesus ascended "far above all the heavens". So I ask you this...where did He go? See the picture?

I leave you with that. I'm complete in Jesus.
This would not be correct in any form. Ephesians makes it very clear. Ephesians 2:14-16:I don't believe the old covenant is abolished yet... Jesus said not one jot or title will fail until all is fulfilled... All is not fulfilled ebed... Which you and I disagree
When new Jerusalem comes down all will be fulfilled ... The law still judges sinners... Death will cease when the power of the law ceases to exist
Jesus is the fulfilling of the law (that still exist) for us... Iow I don't need to serve the law because Jesus fulfilled it for me.....
We have faith that Christ is our Passover from death to life..to live again on earth one day
The new covenant abolishes the old covenant in us only ... Not the world ebed
No...you missed the point. Jesus came to call His people out of the world, so no...His kingdom is not of the world.Jesus is not in union with the world... The world is still under satan control... He is the prince and power of the air...the kingdoms of this world belong to him ... But he does not own us... We are bought with a price.. One day the kingdoms of this world will belong to Christ ... And if the kingdoms of this world will belong to Christ ... Then what once belong to the world will belong to Christ ... Satan must be bound for this to take place
So Jesus spoke the truth when he said the kingdoms of this world did not belong to him ... Yet!! For his kingdom is not of this world...
The lost are all who have not received Christ.I did and still don't understand what you mean by lost
It also a seal. Remember receiving the Spirit SEALS US for the day of redemption...which is what we wait for as we serve the Lord. 2 Corinthians 1:21, 22Ok ..a down payment is not a full payment for your faith...will you not one day receive full payment?...
Our faith will be rewarded when god fulfills his promises to us for our faith...
YesWe too will be resurrected because of this.. And the full payment is nations will never die ... Death will cease
Are you kidding? The apostles did more miracles than Jesus did...read Acts they had EVERY GIFT THERE WAS TO HAVE!!!And full payment is the dead in Christ rise again as he did
In part...not all have the gifts... Many members of the body.. Different gifts.. But prophecy will end when all is fulfilled
In part... A complete fulfillment is yet to take place
Not completely ..until all that is written in the law and prophets is fulfilled
Nope. This is the passage Revelation 21:1, 2:By what authority does it come down to earth?.. By the word.. It's prophecied to take place by the prophets so not all is fulfilled
You're skirting the question dfw69...you know the answer.Where shall he come? ..Mt olives ,Jerusalem ...why ? to pick olives?
Well...that would be the point His kingdom comes to earth...it's already established.Never said I did not believe in a spiritual kingdom ... I do believe Jesus has a kingdom right now... I also believe he will establish a kingdom on earth .. You don't ...that's all
Never said I did not believe in a spiritual kingdom ... I do believe Jesus has a kingdom right now... I also believe he will establish a kingdom on earth .. You don't ...that's all
This would not be correct in any form. Ephesians makes it very clear. Ephesians 2:14-16:
14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace,
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.
Now that clearly says Jesus abolished the law! Also remember the Law is written on the HEART of ALL!
No...you missed the point. Jesus came to call His people out of the world, so no...His kingdom is not of the world.
The point is...we who are saved, ARE in His kingdom, and we are "in the world, not of the world". This is why Jesus has us here...He's still calling out a people for His name.
The lost are all who have not received Christ.
It also a seal. Remember receiving the Spirit SEALS US for the day of redemption...which is what we wait for as we serve the Lord. 2 Corinthians 1:21, 22
21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,
22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
Are you kidding? The apostles did more miracles than Jesus did...read Acts they had EVERY GIFT THERE WAS TO HAVE!!!
The only thing remaining is for Jesus to come, resurrect the quick and the dead, judge the world and make all things new.
Nope. This is the passage Revelation 21:1, 2:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
What do you notice about that passage?
You're skirting the question dfw69...you know the answer.
Well...that would be the point His kingdom comes to earth...it's already established.
Those who do not have the Holy Spirit do not have that "guarantee" of eternal life.
And "eternal life" means a lot at the end of our lives, whenever that may be.
That is the only "end" time left, friend.
But those only hoping to be completed in the future, miss out on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in this life, imho.
It's all about His salvation.
They miss the blessings of His salvation by limiting the Lord.
It's a glass half empty philosophy. Always thinking the Lord hasn't done enough.
I'd rather meditate on the Psalms and praise the Lord for what He has done and can do now!
