A lot of people said that they were offended by the first episode....but it was a priest for the "Sun God", so why....

...
...

People get offended to easily.

Althouggh it was a priest for the "Sun God," the priests in it were rather clearly modeled after Christian priests. So I can see where they could get offended. But I still agree people are offended too easily.

Its not about that, you gotta wonder what kinda people actually wrote that story and what kinda message are they reing to send to viewers... were they belivers, maybe not but the idea that that hits so close to home to the way naysayers try to disprove God is what is offensive. Now all that is done with and im sure the series moves away from that after that little event but c-mon read between the lines at what was being said in the first episode offensive or not.... it was clearly giving praise to science and human logic over any religion period. Im glad that the fake preist was put out in the open, he deserves it, but then again the idea of showing people that are that ignorant to the outside world and thier faith mimicing an actual monothestic faith is what is offensive. theres nothing "easily offended by" about it.... it just has themes that are too farmiliar, and in a cartoon for crieng out loud, whats that gonna teach children.

But anyway.... what better are we gonna talk about, besides anything controversal? Theres other places for that.

I guess that's why Ed said that he was not sure if their was a god or not, but that the priest was a fake...(note the sarcasm)

Anyway, who has seen past what they have played on CN?

uh, i finished Full metal alchemist... and

it's awesome!!

the last few episodes turned what the audience believed to be the rule... completely upside down! the ending.. well, i can't tell whether it's a tragedy or a happy ending, it can be taken both ways. An ending of hope.. yet.

well, wow, just.. what an anime. :)

well....they go to this one guys house that is like a Great State Alchemist, they study for weeks, then Ed takes the exam, passes the first two tests, then the last on he has to use alchemy to impress the judges of the test, and he ends up using Alchemey without a transmutation circle, and saves a guys life, and passes the test and REALLY impresses the judges.....

Yeah, Ive seen the imported version without dubbing and the lines are a bit different and of course the voices are WAAAAAAAY differrent.

I recently found this site where you can download episodes, they are subbed but its still good. I had to use it when I missed the episode two weeks ago when there was that guy with the dolls

Oh yeah..... definitly Bebop, I look at that show and can just tell that it is much grittier than what Cartoon Network makes it out to be.

the same goes with FMA, take the first few episodes for example. In the Cartoon Network airing of it you will only see the burnt failure of the Elrics trieng to bring back their mom for maybe a split second..... on the Import I saw it was quite graphic, same goes for with showing Eds arm that was torn off.
