NYT Ad: Quit The Catholic Church

The New York Times published and ad from the Freedom From Religion Foundation which calls for nominal and liberal Catholics to abandon the Church.

The ad asks "Why are you propping up the pillars of a tyrannical and autocratic, woman-hating, sex-perverting, antediluvian Old Boys Club? " and states "No self-respecting feminist, civil libertarian or progressive should cling to the Catholic faith." [Full Text Below.]

It goes without saying that the brave brave NYT would never accept and publish an ad criticizing Islam in the same way. But leaving aside the obvious cowardice and their disgraceful perfunctory anti-Catholicism, I think the ad is good. If that is what you believe, get out.

Question to ask your Bishop: Does he hold up an umbrella against the rain? Isn’t that just as “unnatural” as using a condom or diaphragm?

LOL.

I could make a comment but I don't feel like getting an infraction.

And yes, if you feel that highly with regards to contraception, then it is in fact time to leave the Church.

Adios!

The New York Times has had an agenda against the Catholic Church for years. Does this really surprise anyone?

With the internet, 24 hour cable news & the waste of trees to print rag papers, maybe it's time to abandon the New York Times for the dinosaur it has become.

Is this an oblique way of admitting that liberals don't know enough to come in out of the rain?

The New York Times is yet another Jurassic media outlet that's sloshing around in its swamp, vainly trying to figure out why the water keeps getting colder.

And as its number of subscribers gets ever smaller and the icicles form on the fern trees, it will eventually freeze and topple over in the swamp, extinct for eternity, while the new real outlets for news on the Internet gain more and more and more readers every year.

Same thing for book publishing companies. Authors submit manuscripts that are read and rejected by junior editors with the intelligence range of a trout fly, so the author simply turns around and put his book on Kindle. No middleman. And the New York publishing houses likewise flounder around in their swamp, vainly trying to figure out why the water keeps getting colder.

You better wake up, publishers----it's a whole new world out there; and if you're not careful, you ain't gonna be part of it.
