I just found out one of my online remarks is quoted there. (From another board, where I post as X777.)

When I heard I was quoted there, I was actually a bit disappointed to find that the quote they found so objectionable was really fairly tame.

we've had problems with that site for a while. It has been mentioned time and time again.

It has a bad rep also. That is why I don't bother posting there.

The same can be said of Baptistboard.com also.

Now if your anti-calvinist, thats the place for you to be.

I wouldn't let it bother you.

I hadn't heard of it before, but you aroused my curiosity, so I went to check it out.

IMHO not worth your, or anyone's, time. They're just mockers, playing "I'm ok, you're ok, he's not ok."

There are some things that bug me about fundies, but that wouldn't be a good place to air them. That would elicit derision only, and no insight.

Oh! I didn't even realize they had their own forum!

I had been pointed to the page where one can search their archive of fundy quotations.

Just for kicks, I posted (on another site I frequent) a little thread of brusque furndy-ish remarks, so they can have some better material on me -- assuming they get around to "crawling" that site again.

I just went there now to check it out.....how come I'm not there?

What a sad little forum....sheesh, how do they have the time to trawl through various sites and get those quotes? They must seriously have nothing to do...

Then Loryn griped that they *and I* left her out.

Shortcake (or someone) speculated that Yoda might have given them our quotes, since TB is a small and likely obscure site.

AHA!!! YODA!! That naughty gremlin, now why wouldn't that surprise me?! yeah, cos it's weird that anyone would have quotes from TB!

LOL at Loryn, what about Shortcake? Did she end up in their hall of fame? I'm surprised that Josh and I didn't get a mention, especially Josh, he's the mega fundie to beat all mega fundies.

Shortcake and Hiram were quoted. Hiram is no surprise. Shortcake... well, apart from being a doobie-smoking non-inerrantist with unconventional conceptions of "hell," I guess she's a pretty regular fundy.

But my lone quote got a fairly high "fundy" rating, so -- Yay, me!

I search that site now and then to see if I've been quoted. None so far . In fact I've found that very few fundies from CF ever get quoted. Lots of others do, including Catholics and Atheists, etc.

I did find a real doozie today though and the person who posted it does say/believe they are a fundie. That one made me cringe. Yikes. But overall, I find there are few comments that really qualify. They're just poking fun at Christians and doing a terrible job of it! lol.

I'm on there regularly. I found this site through it. I was releived to find out that not all fundies are nutjobs and that you can actually have a conversation with them.

Have a laugh, it's a satire, don't take everything so seriously.

They were saying things like I should be murdered and that I rode the "short bus" to school and all sorts of other derisive, derogatory, and sheerly hateful things. They are nothing but a bunch of bigots over there. I personally wish the site would be shut down for good.

I find it highly amusing that *I'm* quoted there.

Though, the comment was badly misrepresented, taken out of context and really meant the opposite of what it appeared to.

I'm pretty sure that somebody did that on purpose, thinking they were getting back at me for something.

People who feel the need to mock & attack others have their own personal issues of inadequacy and inferiority & seek to bully others to make themselves appear more acceptable.
Net bullies that need to get out of mom's dank basement & get a real job out there.

I noticed that on another one of those types of sites. They took stuff out of context and spun it into something it wasn't. But I agree, most of it I think is just to mock Christians.

Well we're in good company, they mocked Jesus too - & He told us that we'd be persecuted for His names sake.
(altho I do have to admit that I don't agree with all fundamentalists statements - some do have a bad way of witnessing, and if they are truly Christians, they need some love of God in them to reach the lost).

I checked their page out and they even have me quoted on there, with comments to poke fun and all that.

I got a rating of 3.09 on the fundy scale, which apparently means I'm more fundie than I am not. Oh well... I'm actually a tad humored to be included.

I see one difference. Instead of doing it *here* or on other regular forums, they take their frustration off to a different little corner of the internet, designed specifically for ranting and venting frustration. The few times I have posted comments there, it was because I was so hurt and angry over what was said that I needed to say something, but I knew if I responded on the regular board, I wouldn't be able to be polite and would end up hurting somebody else. The people who are saying things like

You wouldn't know if he was standing right next to you. Or maybe you would, BECAUSE I'LL PRAY TO GOD THAT HE'LL SMACK YOUR TEETH IN!

are actually attacking the person "to their face."
And often, people do go and read the thread, and when something is taken completely out of context, somebody points that out.

Also worth pointing out that Muslim, New Age and even occasionally Hindu, atheist, and secular fundies are included on the mainpage.

Seriously you guys can't think that the highlighting of quotes about how neat it is to beat your children and enslave your wife are really "bullying"?
