So fruits are my all time favourite food. Today, I had some ice apples. I like them very much. We only get these in summer. (aka doub palm, palmyra palm, tala palm, toddy palm, wine palm).

I never heard of ice apples before. What do they taste like?

It is colorless and seedless inside, pretty much like iced water. Tastes very soft and nutty.

India has the best fruits. An ex of mine used to visit family over there once or twice a year and would come back with a lb of chikoo, a box of mango - proper mango, not the insipid soapy things we have in the UK, and red bananas. Plus a few other favourites.

Honestly, if I lived in India I'm sure I'd become a fruitarian. I rarely eat fruit here because the quality of it is SO poor.

Even in the States there's a noticeable difference between an American grape and a British grape. British grapes lack that certain sweetness and aroma that an American grape has.

I think our climate is just not optimal for fruit growth. Don't get me wrong, we do a lot of things very well, but fruit isn't one of them. Personally, I think we're a beer brewing country.

I certainly wouldn't make the trip over here for our food. That's why I eat out in Chinatown or order a biryani if I'm not cooking for myself.
