CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

lol wow..ya'll sound a bit behind on the fruits basket anime..
I've had the entire dvd set in english forever.
The manga series didn't come out till a couple years later. All it took was a demo disk of two episodes I was hooked like crazy.
Anyway...well I read your posts..
let's see..
The cat which is kyo as you know is basically an outcast and can't even so much as visit akito at the main sohma house(where they all usually get together). umm..Shigure was pronounced correctly by one of ya'll whoever did it like this-> She-gure..or more accurately, Shi-gooray...
well yeah..there are actually 11 sohmas that transform including kyo(and akito doesn't have one though the horse is missing from the anime
)..it's just that...kyo's true form is...well..since ya'll are reading the books I would spoil the ending if I told you : )
well anyway..here's the history of the cat just in case you might have forgotten or the books didn't tell you-
A long, long time ago, God decided to invite all of the animals to a banquet… He sent out word for all of them to come to his house the following evening.. “and don’t be late!” he said. When the mischievous rat heard the news, he decided to play a trick on his neighbor, the cat. He told the cat that the party was the day after tomorrow. The very next day, all of the animals lined up for the celebration. And the rat led the way, riding all the way there on the back of the cow. Everyone had a wonderful time Except for the foolish cat. Who missed the whole thing.
At no time in the history of the Zodiac has the cat ever been included among the twelve animals. The cat has been shunned by society for thousands of years and yet, it still yearns to be accepted.

I am totally completely addicted to Fruits Basket. The manga, that is...I liked the anime okay, but I don't have the opportunity to see it anymore.
I don't really have a favorite character. Shigure is kind of a creep, but a nice creep...The rest of the good characters I like without reservation.
I have heard some people mention that they don't like Fruits Basket because it is all sweetness and light...I don't understand this. There is a sharp contrast between the dark (sometimes desperate) family circumstances of the characters and the normality of school life that seems very true-to-life, even though it is fantasy.

Oh my goodness.Those of you who haven't seen the anime..X_X you are totally missing out on its true self which is even more amazing than the books..
The theme songs are superb. What really saddens me though is that the creator of those songs died..X_X like last year. Such beautiful songs she made before she died. No wonder God took her life X_X
At least listen to the English version of the opening theme!!!! You'll love it..

I've heard about it, but I haven't read the manga or seen the anime. But here's something funny though, I went to an anime convention over the weekend, and I bought a pouch bag of Kyou in his cat form, a matching chain/bracelet, and a matching wallet. He looks so cute, I'm gonna have to find time to check it out. But I think I might have quicker access to the manga than the anime since I have little cash and no internet.

i started reading fruits basket, but it was REALLY confusing cause i read it out of order. first i read 4; then 2, 3, 5, and 6; then 11; then 7; finally 1; and lastly 10. i haven't read 8 or 9. and now i'm trying to get them from the library again so i can reread them in order.
as for whats IN the books... aaya-kun is awesome! ^^ i wish he was real so that he could be my best friend. and gure-san and tori-chan are great too! the three main characters (tohru, yuki, kyo) are all right. momiji and kisa are sooooo CUTE! hiro and rin may be mean but they're pretty cool. uo-kun and hana-san are really cool too. i'd love to know more about ritsu (besides what's in his bio). and haru-kun and akito-san are hot.
the books are fantastic! the pictures are wicked, the authur has a amazing style. i love fruits basket and i've become obsessed... great ANOTHER obsession. i really didn't need this. but this means more fanart and fanfics, hehehehe...
