Fruits Basket

I've just started reading "Fruits Basket" and am compleatly addicted. The anime is a different style then what I am used to (InuYasha, Kenshin, Wish..even Ranma 1/2) But it's still very /very/ good.
Has anyone else read this series or even heard of it?

So, who's your favorite charecter?? I love Momjii (rabbit) at least I /think/ that's how you spell his name. ???
I was born in the year of the rabbit, so maybe that's why.

my friend loves fruits basket but she has a 'slight' problem with explaining things (it took her three months to tell me what inu yasha is). anyway it's not at my library so could you guys enlighten me about it?

Tohya is an orphan who moves in with Shigure and Yuki in one of the Sohma family houses. She does the cooking and cleaning in exchange for a place to sleep. Anyway, the Sohma's have a family curse. Members turn into an animal of the zodiac when hugged by a member of the opposite sex. There's only 13 who change though. Tohya wants to break the curse. I'm sure there's a better explanation, but I also suck at explaining things...

Scarlet, I love your Sesshomaru pic! He's great! "Fruits Basket" revolves around the Chinese Zodiac. eg, year of the Rabbit, Ox, Snake etc.
Now the plot is about a family, who well, are the Chinese Zodiac animals. They look exactly like humans, but when they're hugged by a member of the oppisite sex they turn into their Zodiac animal. It get's more interesting when a normal human (practically orphaned) girl moves in with three of the male "zodiac cousins" and is sworn to secrecy.
Of course there's much accidental hugging and trying to keep the secret away from everyone else. Which can be pretty darn funny.
It's a comedy, and has a little romance without the dirtiness in it.

Yup "Fruits Basket"..kinda odd, but they explain the title in the first or second book. *can't remember* Amoung fans it's called "Furuba" I have no idea why....
