I was reading Luke 3 and felt pierced by John the Baptist’s preaching. Also the sermon this Sunday made me feel condemned, about the Kingdom being like a treasure hidden in a field that a man found, covered, and sold all his possessions for; and the pearl of great price a merchant sold all his possessions for. The pastor said if you can take or leave Jesus, you haven’t experienced the kingdom. I worry about unbelief and have been feeling faithless, and like I sin too easily to please myself or just irrationally. Please pray for me that God will forgive me, help me to believe, give me the Holy Spirit, and grant me to repent and love rightly.

Hey Deerglow, I have been struggling lately but remember God loves us and He is for us. God bless you and Jesus is Lord.

I will pray for you too, DeerGlow.

I believe you are on the right track DeerGlow, as you are aware of your own sinfulness, you are aware of falling too short before God's glory. And the fact that you wish to change and getting stronger faithed in God, these are good signs, my dear DeerGlow.

These days it seems very clear to me that God are calling forth and raising up true Christian believers from around the world, working in their lives and changing them, as well as preparing them for His Son's Jesus Christ's Return.

Just keep on holding on to Him, fixate your eyes on your Lord Jesus Christ! The times ahead will become more difficult, but He has told us that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

You are in God's hands, DeerGlow, He just wants you to keep on beleiving in Him, and trusting in Him as well as in His promises and Word! Even when you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Remember this too! And that you are concerned about this, shows that you do still have a little bit of faith. Now; Nurture it, dear DeerGlow, let it grow! Do anything which brings you closer to God!

You will be doing fine, DeerGlow!

Much Love in Christ Jesus!

Also DeerGlow; I do believe you already have the Holy Spirit within you. If you wouldn't have had it you wouldn't have been this concerned about your own sinfulness nor seen how short you fall before God, the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts you when you have sinned and points out for you what needs to be worked on and changed in you.

Those who don't have the Holy Spirit will not be too bothered about it when they are sinning, and will not feel a need of getting changed and worked on by God.

Hey kid, glad you're back. It's good to fear and honor our Heavenly Father. Don't worry too much, He loves you more than you know. I'll be praying for you. Good to see you back. God bless :).

How nice to see you again, DeerGlow! I don’t know if I have just not seen you or if you haven’t been around, but still, good to see you. Know that I have prayed for you, do pray for you, and will continue to pray for you (God willing).

It doesn't matter how you feel. You have the choice whether you choose to believe the Bible or not. True faith is the decision to believe the Bible and to do what it tells you to do. If your believing or lack of it is based on the way you feel, then you are calling God a liar, because you are not believing what He has told you about yourself in the Bible. I think that this is the root of your problems. You are choosing not to believe what God is saying to you and His promises to you. You will not get anywhere with God until you go before Him, lift up your empty hands in faith and say that you are deciding to believe His Word. Then you need to read and study the Bible and find out what He says about you and what He has promised you.

Only those who don't care are unmoved by Jesus, sin and about what they believe.

You do worry about what you believe, about sin and sinning and about your relationship with Jesus.
While you have a tender conscience you are like the tax collector safe with Jesus.
One of the promises about Jesus is that 'the smouldering candle he won't put out' So no matter how fraile you think your faith is or how weak your grip on salvation, it is Jesus who will carry you.

Scripture addresses each issue that you have listed:
the sermon this Sunday made me feel condemned
Romans 8.1 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
Your feelings of condemnation are just that - feelings. If you know the truth of scripture, you can override your feelings with the knowledge of the truth.

I worry about unbelief and have been feeling faithless, and like I sin too easily to please myself or just irrationally.
Matt 5.4 -
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

You are mourning your sinful ways. Jesus says that you are blessed. You will be comforted if you accept it.

Please pray for me that God will forgive me, help me to believe, give me the Holy Spirit, and grant me to repent and love rightly.
Eph 1.7 -In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

1 John 1.9 -
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

The good news is that you don't even need others to pray for your forgiveness - you can do it yourself, and He is faithful to forgive!

Wrong , that parable is about Jesus , he sold everything he had ( his life ) and bought it with a price , it was rejected by Jews because they were displeased with the pear analogy ( unclean for Jews ) , pearls were used for gentiles .

Father, I pray that Deerglow will not be mislead by what preachers say or by misinterpretations. May she follow Your Word as in Acts 17:11. May she come to know in her heart of hearts that in having received Jesus as Savior, she is indwelt by the entire Trinity (John 14:22-23; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Since faith come by receiving Your Word with an open heart of trust (Romans 10:17), may she read much of Your Word and grow in interacting in faith with it (Psalms 119:11; Joshua 1:8-9; Jeremiah 15:16; Job 23:12; Matthew 4:4). May her faith be based on You, Your Word, and her alignment with it, and not on just fanciful sermons or on her own feelings. 2 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 2:2. Amen.

It says the kingdom of heaven is like these things at the beginning of both parables though, or am I misunderstanding you?

“"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

Yea Kingdom of Heaven was at hand when Christ came , they though he will bring it right away but he told them multiple times that he must suffer first .
They rejected the kingdom in the end .
