Do any of you have the problem of all your friends being married? I'm 27, but everyone I know is married w/kids. I wouldn't mind going out and hanging with the girls, but they're home with the hubby/kids.

most of my friends are married (but don't have children, yet). this isn't usually too much of a problem. altough we can't be as "spontaneous" as we once were, usually as long as we plan ahead and do something everyone enjoys (movies, bowling), then friday nights are still fun.

Then there are the nights when I'm not feeling too social and I usually light a candle, put on a CD and jump into a hot bath for an hour or so before I curl up in bed with a good book or a movie.

I love doing this! I especially love bubble baths and curling up in bed when it is raining with the window open. It is so soothing.

The same thing we do every Friday night, Pinky......Try to take over the world!

((hehe, sorry, someone had to mention this one))

Between playing online games and hanging out with my youth group - I ponder the nature of Humanity, the meaning of Life, the foundational principles of the Universe, and the everything else.

I still haven't caught on to this going alone to coffee houses thing. Maybe I should try it - only catch is that I am no good at talking to strangers and furthermore it is nearly impossible for me to ascertain who I might have an interesting conversation with and who would blow me off.

There is also the issue that I seem to be unable to plan social events very well (even if the 'social' in the event includes only myself  )

Well my social life has been non-existant since fall last year. All my friends are at colleges hundreds of miles away, and there is absolutely nothing to do around here (unless you're interested in bars, clubs or strip joints).

So... normally I:
Rent/watch a movie
Play video games (that gets boring fast nowadays)
Read
Talk to people on IM and generally waste time on the net

I love going to coffee shops alone... but not to meet people--I go to work on my latin and greek, usually. :)

Usually the only people I meet at the coffee shops are the old farmers shooting the breeze about their trucks and the state of politics.

I work Friday nights, but it's usually a fun job.

I work in a hotel in downtown Charlotte North Carolina. I have a nice view of the skyline from the front lobby, and you can see the Carolina Panthers stadium. This time of the year is slow and I kind of feel like I am in the Overlook Hotel in the movie the Shining sometimes, hopefully I won't end up like the character Jack Nicholson played.:) It is slow enough where I can goof off and surf the internet most of the night. And when we're busy you can do a lot people watching. The building is a little old, but we are continuously renovating. We just put in new elevators this past year. I think every employee in the hotel had gotten stuck in the old elevators once or twice, so I am glad those have now been replaced. I work the 11pm to 7am shift and am alone here with the night security guard and the houseperson most of the night. Sometimes there are functions going on in the banquet rooms such as wedding receptions and business meetings where other staff employees stay later. We usually have some nice live bands playing lite jazz favorites on Fridays and Saturdays. And the free breakfast buffet in the morning is delicious, but I have tried to avoid that lately with my diet. ;)

I also work the night shift at a hotel in south Tulsa, Oklahoma. Friday nights are busy there, so I usually do not get on CF that night. I enjoy going to coffee houses, and my church (4500 or so on Sunday mornings) has its own coffee house that is open to the public. I usually like to stop by on a Friday or Saturday evening, purchase some coffee and read one of my books on Smith Wigglesworth for an hour or two. I then head out about 10:20 or so to make it across town and be to work by 11pm.

Nice to know someone in the same line of work

I kind of got sidetracked into hotels after college, I had originally planned on a career in accounting or banking. But I like where I am now. :)

Well here in the UK the "DATE" thing is not a big issue, we dont by custom do lots of "dates" before I became a christian Friday night was just one to go out to the night club with your mates.
Today I am invovled with much church work so Fridays are out, but if I were younger I would go to the beach have BBQs go for a week end hike, do fun things with my mates and make it a rule that "we all share the time out and interact and do not take off and be luvvy doovvvy if we do have a girl/boy friend" we stick togther and ahve fun togetehr... bless you fm JOHN

I'm not against the ide aof dating either. Some Christians have been fortunate enough through their own circumstances to have feel God put the one for them to marry right infront of them and there be no need to date and have gotten engaged and married within a year.
Some of us havn't havn't had that happen to us and so we feel we must help ourselves with allot of prayer about this
eg: waiting for the one God has for us and trying to ward of the enemies suggestions that.

God has forgotten about us and if we don't go on a searching rampage for Mr/Miss right we won't ever meet the right one  .

I find Friday nights to be the most depressing due to it being the end of the week and knowing that I should put my studying books away and relax and try to forget about Uni:yawn: . It's a great excuse to spend it with God though, and the enemy hates that. So I try to keep my chin up and knowI'm not alone :pink: ,

stay blessed,

I go to school almost full time (I'm taking Anatomy, Nutrition and Pharmacology Math) and usually I'm at school all morning and I go to the gym (PE) with my friend in Anatomy. Usually the days before this I'm busy with Choir, Royal Rangers (Church Boy Scouts), and pretty much that keeps me pretty busy! So usually friday nights I spend it with my sister and I try to play Playstation 2 (especially Final Fantasy X-2!!). Usually going to church on Wednesdays and Sundays usually helps me to not feel bored! Luckily school keeps me active too!
