Don't get too excited, Pythons. BTW, Sacred Scriptures is redundant.

Yes, Sacred Scripture is redundant that God is not a free-moral agent...
...LOL I know what you meant but in all honesty.
...Scripture simply means text in a book - Sacred classifys it's more than just words.

Wrong. Scripture means holy writings.

As in Hindu, Islamic & every other non - Christian religion...
...I've only heard "Sacred Scripture" used to speak of the Christian Canon.
...I could easily be wrong and remember you from a long time ago - Good to see ya again.

You are probably correct but it only reflects the sense of superiority that some Christians feel.

Does God have free will?

Hey my fellow Dominican friend:thumbsup:.

Being created in the image of God. I find that fatherhood takes away your free will and obligates you, to the needs of your dependants.

I also find that God is obligated to carry out the words and promises that He has made from creation.

Does God have free will?

Please don't take this reply as a loud rebuttal. More thinking out loud.

"God said, Let us make man in our image..." First, was God forced to create? "Let us make..." is that volitional language? Have we shown evidence of free will? Being made in His image: Could He give us something He didn't have?

By "free will" do you imply the necessity to sin? God knew the qualities of sin before we did for it says that when man sinned in that we became like Him knowing good and evil. God knew/knows the qualities and consequences of sin but it doesn't follow that He is guilty of exercising sin. In not exercising sin He is not exempted from possessing free will. There are religions that would say otherwise - that evil is necessary that righteousness can exist.
