Free Web Hosting

Hi there everyone, how are you? I'm new here - I'm a Penn State Engineering student, married, Christian, and own a web hosting company. I saw an earlier thread about web hosting, and I just wanted to offer free web hosting accounts to people that needed them. I currently own a business at webhostinggt.com, but wanted to offer free accounts to people on these forums... as I have extra space that isn't used, and make plenty from my paid customers. So, I figure, why not reach out and give some hosting away?

All you need to do is PM me and i'll set up an account for you. You'd be able to have mySQL databases, subdomains, multiple email accounts, etc. Space can be negotiated... however much you need that is in reason I'll provide for you. NO advertising, either... when I'm nice and giving something away, that's just what I'm doing, and not requiring anything of you!

One question though, does your host allow image linking?

sounds like a good deal. Would we be able to host our own domains? Also, is 50MB possible? Love to hear back from you. Also interested to hear what kind of servers and backbone you have. Just curious, really

Wow that is a very nice gesture. Just so everyone knows, you can get urls fairly inexpensively now. They are as low as 8.95 a year from companies that give you all the rights to your name (some are cheaper but limit you in where you can host).

Hey everyone, I'll try to answer your questions...

rwl - yes, image linking is fine
drfeelgood - 50 MB would be no problem at all! servers are dual p4's, running linux. full control panel included. It's a breeze to setup/use actually!
daveleau - exactly, domains are cheap! i use godaddy.com to register mine.

Wow this is great! I took a look at your site and it looks awesome!

See, I've been looking for a place to make a webpage with all kinds of cool stuff for it, like forums, etc. I've also wanted to host my own domain name for it, but I never had the money to do it.

One thing though, I noticed that on your webpage it said you host both Basic and Premium deals. Which one is the kind that you are giving away for free?

It doesn't really matter... I have space for you guys. We can start out with 50 MB... and if you really need more, we could probably work something out. One cool thing is that in the Control Panel, there's a thing called "Fantastico" - which automatically installs and sets up some forums for you, and other various software.

im just wondering how ur doing all this, i mean like, r u using something free such as angelfire? or are you paying 4 everyone ur setting up on a website of there own, such as whatevernameuwant.com just to let everyone know, this is NOT a website, i just used it as an example
