Freemasonry is a fraternity of a brotherhood of man that welcomes an association of multiple religions. Christianity does not mix with unbelievers but must condemn the thought of unbelief and remember to love our neighbor as we discern ( 1 John 4:1-21 etc.).

There are charitable organizations from the Freemasons like the Shriner’s children’s hospital. It is a good thing to donate to and support such efforts ( Philippians 4:8, Luke 10:25-37 etc)

Orthodox Christians, Christians in general, should not be Freemasons.

What is freemasonry and is it compatible with being a Christian?
While Freemasonry claims they are not a religion and will flatly deny it at every opportunity, their rituals and many of their symbols are taken from Judaism and Jewish myths.

Definitely not compatible with Christianity because Judaism is direct descendant of Pharisee and the teachings are the same and Jesus never instructed His followers to induct themselves into the Pharisee religion.

This is probably the unspoken bond between USA and Israel since USA are founded by Freemasons who maybe secretly Judaists and are therefore Jews (Judaists).

Yes, supporting Shriner's Hospital is great as well as being with members of variious denominations; however, there are problems with Freemasonry.

One item _

As a former Eastern Star and White Shrine member including leadership roles for decades, I have always admired the work that the Masons and those in other related organizations do.

But when I learned that "the Supreme Being" didn't mean Jehovah, Yahweh to every member and could mean whatever or whomever they consider their god with any sacred book placed on the altar then I exited those organizations. It may not be that important to anyone else but it was and is to me.

Since then I've learned even more about the ceremonies including those of university fraternities and sororities. Interesting how those aren't even mentioned most of the time.

The Freemasons also uphold the Biblical laws, but it is a distorted interpretation by the Tower of Babel model. Masonic leaders are mainly British and American, and the more advanced is the Scottish Rite. On the surface, the Freemasons look very much like angels, which makes those who clearly worship demons envious. The Freemasons do not have atheist members, so the Illuminati can only join the Freemasons by disguising themselves.

And some Freemasons disguised themselves as Christians?

Most small town lodges are just social clubs that encourage doing good works. Many members are old school, “mainline” Protestants and don’t think deeply about rituals but like the externals on a rare occasion.

What is freemasonry and is it compatible with being a Christian?

Freemasonry originated among literal stone mason guilds in the medieval era.

In modern times it has become a secretive fraternal society with secretive rituals--this, generally, places it at odds with the general Christian sentiment of 1) our lives should be lived openly and honestly before the world and 2) a general suspicion of secretive organizations which may (or perhaps may not) divide loyalty.

Can a Christian be a Freemason? Sure.

Is it compatible? That's harder to say, generally speaking the historical answer is probably not, probably shouldn't, there are lots of opportunities in both Christian and secular spheres for socializing and doing work together for various purposes, which don't require secretive affiliations.
