  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thoughts on his novels anyone?

I've read:

This Present Darkness
Piercing the Darkness

...and I quite enjoyed reading both.

I've also read Monster...which was OK...and I thought a little "out there" but an interesting read.

Recently I read The Visitation...which I thought was quite thought provoking.

And now I've started reading Prophet which I'm having a hard time getting into, mostly because the copy I have is a small paperback with very small print...(even with my handy dandy reading glasses)...^_^

I've enjoyed reading Peretti's stories (hit or miss on the thought provoking scale IMO) but I'm wondering if this book is worth going out a buying a hardback copy with larger print?

never read anything of his, what does he write about?

He's best known for the spiritual warfare "Darkness" novels~guarantee your local library would have them.

The Visitation~yes, it's worth the read, just read it before you see the movie...

Yup, I got it through netflix; probably not at your local store but ya never know..

Thanks MrJim...now that I've read the book...it would be interesting to see how it translated into a movie...

I still have yet to see how the LB series turned out on film...I keep hearing mixed reviews about them.

I've read all his books I think. I don't think I've read House, I think it's called? But my favorite book by far was The Oath, which I understand is being made into a movie. Stick with Prophet, it turned out to be pretty good as I recall.
