Or you could say that the mainstream news media is biased to the left, and the fact that Fox is not makes it LOOK like it's biased to the right.
see that's another point.

even if the right never went further right - if the left went further left for example, the right will look "farther right" in relation to the farther left. (that was another mouthful)

happily carried coverage of his potentially being the antichrist as 'unbiased.'

And also "happily"carried coverage of his being called the "Messiah."

Seems like "Fair and Balanced" is correct, then, and that Fox at least covers these things.

I think you can get an idea of slantedness by what it on the front page.

Action: Obama passes gas in the Oval Office.

MSNBC Headline: Evil Republican conspiracy to disable the president was foiled when he bravely passed gas to prevent the severe pain that obviously meant for him by the Republican chef who prepared his broccoli.

FoxNews Headline: [In huge font] Obama is contributing to global warming!!!!

CNN: Obama passes gas in the Oval Office. What will the impact on the abortion debate be?

NPR: Obama passes gas in the Oval Office. Now, to our science editor who will discuss how gas is formed and how we can avoid this embarrassing situation.

I don't watch any news channel very much -- I get most of my news from the internet -- but I watch FNC the most. I like several of their commentators, and many of the regular guests.

I'll admit FNC leans to the right, particularly in the commentary, but that's the reason I watch it. There is no unbiased news on TV, except on C-SPAN -- it's not hard to be unbiased when you say nothing but just roll the cameras.

would anyone say that Fox leans to the far right, or simply leans moderately right, or neither? at any rate, it leans right but to what extent do you feel it leans right?
I would say they are somewhere between "right of center" and "far right". More "sensationalist" than anything.

FoxNews, sensationalist? Are you mad? I was just scrolling down their front page and just after the stock market ticker I see this article:

Stars' First Nude Scenes
PHOTOS: Sandra Bullock has her first one in this week's 'The Proposal,' and so joins quite the long list

Some days even I wonder...

(kidding!)

Consider this: "breaking news" on Fox is anything ranging from Susan Boyle stubbing her toe on a piece of furniture to man defeating twelve midgets in a fight to the president sneezing to September 11th-like disaster.

Horribly inconsistent.

maybe this is Fox's version of Fair and Balanced Haha

Yeah, today was actress first nude scenes, tomorrow will be actor first nudes...it's a shame Fox can't take a high road in today's culture instead of pandering to base elements..

You have to understand what Rupert Murdoch is doing. He saw that conservative-leaning news was an open market and took advantage of it. He's in it for the money. That's why you get the odd juxtaposition of conservative news and sex.

Exactly!

And I would say FNC is moderate conservative/populist/sensationalist in news coverage, but mostly very conservative in commentary. Neal Cavuto, who tends strongly libertarian, is one of my favorites.

Wow!

Now I have to think of a different way to say that!

Ok, I love FNC.

I completely enjoy the constant parade of pulchritudinous newsbunnies. :yum: About 85% of the time, they manage to find women that are not only pleasing to the eye, but also charming, witty, and intelligent.

Yes, the network does lean right. It is nonetheless "Fair and Balanced" in the same sense that Rush has been known to refer to himself as "Equal Time."

I like Beck. Anyone who makes fun of himself and at times greets his audience as "sick, twisted freaks" automatically gets points from me. OTOH, he can focus too much on gloom and doom. Yeah, we need to face those possibilities, but I have enough stress in my personal life lately that I can't stand being bombarded with apocalyptic scenarios.

Hannity annoys me.

I mostly like Big O -- O'Reilly, AND the megadeus anime.

I love Fox and Friends, except on occasions such as the one last week, where Carrie Prejean filled in for Gretchen for the first hour, and had a ridiculous "Stupefyin' Jones" effect on Brian Kilmeade the entire time.

Red Eye can be hilarious, if you're a night owl and in the right frame of mind. It is especially good when they have guests who are otherwise "serious" people, but who unexpectedly and wonderfully fit into that outrageous irreverent atmosphere.

The "headline crawl" is prone to typo errors, and that annoys the snot out of me. I'd be constantly bloodying the knuckles of the person(s) running it if I were in charge.

The only thing that concerns me about FNC is that its ratings are consistently SO far above the competition. I favor the old saying, "Never underestimate the stupidity of the American public," so when a particular news channel is highly rated by that stupid public...
