What happens too, is that someone will engage you in a conversation, knowing you do not belong in their thread. And after leading you on in a healthy exchange, will report you as soon as they don't like what they hear.

No —— everyone can post there in fellowship. What they are not allowed to do is to teach contrary to the doctrines of that group. No different than going to a Presbyterian folder and preaching against Calvin, or the Catholic folder and saying what a dweeb the pope was.

That is true of every denominational folder on this site.
But wouldn't it be more honorable to tell someone who does not know they are in the wrong to back off? Or simply drop the conversation? Why lead them on only to report them?

I think the point of the OP is that we might not always realize that we are in a Congregational Forum. It's too easy to click into a current sidebar topic without realizing where we ended up. This has happened to me, and others I'm sure. I have found myself double-checking to see where I am, and revising, or deleting posts when I realized where I was. There is also the question of, "What are the stated common beliefs of this group?" Can we know with any certainty what they might find offensive?
The main core beliefs of that congregation are in the Statement of Purpose. It really just takes a few seconds to check what forum the thread is in.

I see the thread is closed - but wanted to clarify where the congregational beliefs are located. If you have a question about the site, or a concern, please bring it to Contact Us, the link to which is on the bottom of the page toward the right.
