so out of a community of nearly 200,000 erwin chose to listen to a poll (bad poll at that!) that showed 50 people thought something? How does THAT make sense?In case anyone missed this, Erwin wrote a reason for the name change at the bottom of drstevej's poll on changing the name of Christianforums...

I don't know what to make of this. As someone who was very strongly in favour of the 07/07/07 changes, I don't believe that a name change was necessary. I felt Christian Forums was a very appropriate name - a forum for those who wish to discuss Christianity, whether Christian or interested in the religion for whatever reason. I did not believe that the name implied any "Christian only" exclusivity.
Well, I suppose I'll just wait and see how this pans out. I appreciate Erwin's dedication, even if I'm yet to be convinced this latest change is a good one.
Well, I thank Erwin for his work but I dislike this. A lil story, my wife searched years ago for christian fourms, lookin for a christian place, she found that in CF, she has already told me she'd never have clicked on sumthin called "foru.ms".
I'm sorry you spent your money for this domain actually, I didn't wanna believe in 'hostile take overs' but I'm startin to wonder, I support many of the changes an not some others, this is one I cain't support, I was a member of a christian online community where I could fellowship... I cain't see bein a member of some "social-networkin" thin mysef..... I know folks complained bout the name of CF for a long time though.......

There are no rules keeping the name of Christ from being defamed here any more. Unitarians are now considered Christians here and are free to poison waters for the weak and unlearned... theres more probs than just a name changeOr if changes are not made just have another site and then the ones that are happy will have this for their socialization

If Erwin betrayed the board before, for instance concerning the nicene creed, why shouldn t we ALL feel betrayed before this final blow?There are no rules keeping the name of Christ from being defamed here any more.
