Rock and roll is like anything else. It can be good or it can be bad, depending on how it's used.

Personally, the last rock band I cared for was Los Lobos. Before that, Rockpile and The Band.

I really dig beach music and I listen to a lot of American Routes (radio show) and Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio (another radio show). Both feature early rock and roll, from the days when the lines between rock and roll, R&B, and country music were blurred.

Then, the Beatles came along and ruined everything.

Since then, there have been a couple of bands, such as the aforementioned Los Lobos, Rockpile, and The Band that have tried to do it right. But, mostly, rock and roll hasn't been good in thirty years.

I thought Cadet nailed it, especially regarding the point about just sounding like "noise". Some of the most amazing musicians are playing in extreme metal/technical death metal bands and there's nothing easy about what they do.

Regardless, it's still tempting to believe that this is Christian Forums collapsing in on itself under the weight of self parody. Like an opinionated black hole, with the infinitely dense assertion that rock-n-roll is dangerous right at its centre.
