A student here has said that the land covenant of Israel is forever. they understand this to be eternal. That means it will miss the new earth that will be created.

No, the Hebrew "forever" is related to the audience and to what would matter to it. For ex., the OT prophets mention names of cities devastated "forever" yet which are there again today.

There won't be a new earth created,this one will just be rejuvinated...

I think if you incinerate something, you can call the replacement a new creation! But I also don't think we are talking about the same kind of reality , which is why the new creation is already here in Christ.
