  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you do with it ?

Regards the coming destruction; those of us who have extensively studied in this area
are faced with a quandary. The three following passages make it clear that there are
children of Satan on earth, and that Christ is not overly anxious to save them.

See Matthew 13 24-30 : King James Version
Matthew 13 24-30:The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares13.25 among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

See Note 13.25 Ryrie Study Bible
13.25 :tares. Weeds, in this case probably darnel, which in the blade resembles wheat but which can be distinguished from wheat when fully ripe.

See Matthew 13 36-43 Ryrie Study Bible.
Matthew 13 36-43 : Then he left the multitude, and went into the house. And his disciples came to Him saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares in the field." And He answered and said, "The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,a and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels." "Therefore just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age." "The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." "Then THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SHINE FORTH AS THE SUN in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear."

See Matthew 13 : 10-15
Matthew 13 : 10-15 (RSV)
Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables ?"
And he answered to them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the
kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more
be given, and he will have an abundance; but from him who has not, even what he
has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they
do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
With them indeed is fulfilled the prophesy of Isaiah which says :
You shall indeed hear but never understand,
and you shall indeed see but never perceive.
For this people’s heart has grown dull,
and their ears are heavy of hearing,
and their eyes they have closed,
lest they should perceive with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with their heart,
and turn for me to heal them.’

Now I ask those who are knowledgeable in the Scriptures, what do you take the following four quotes from scripture to mean ?

1) Mark 4 : 21-25 (RSV)
And he said to them, "Is a lamp brought in to be put under a bushel, or under a
bed, and not on a stand ? For there is nothing hid except to be made manifest;
nor is anything secret, except to come to light. If any man has ears to hear, let
him hear." And he said to them, "Take heed what you hear; the measure you give
will be the measure you get, and still more will be given you. For to him who has
will more be given; and from him who has not, even what he has will be taken
away."

NOTE : I don’t know where I got the idea that there was a quote that said :
"Hide not thy light under a bushel"
But I guess that is the gist of Mark 4 : 21 . - I took that to mean "Share your insights"

2) James 5 :19-20 (RSV)
My brethren, if any one among you wanders from the truth and some one brings
him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his
way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

NOTE :I don’t remember how or where I got the idea that there was a quote that said :
"Many sins will be forgiven the one who leads another to redemption."
But I guess that’s what James 5 :19-20 means.

3)Matthew 7 : 6-8 (RSV)
"Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest
they trample them under foot and turn to attack you. "Ask, and it shall be given
you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one
who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be
opened.

NOTE : I Have no idea how I came to believe that there was a quote that said :
"Cast not thy pearls before swine"
But I guess that is part of what Matthew 7 : 6 means. I took that to mean one ought be
selective in whom one shares one’s insights with.

4)Luke 3 : 7 (RSV)
He said therefore to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, "You
brood of vipers ! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come ?

NOTE : I don’t know where I got the idea that there was a quote that said :
"Oh nest of serpents ! Who has taught you these things ?"
I guess my memory is getting bad, though again I think it means pretty much the same thing, which I took to mean that some sons of Satan would survive the coming destruction, because someone cast their pearls before swine with the wit to understand them. Makes it tough to decide who to share ones insights with.

Can someone here explain this better to me?
