Disagreeing with your literalist 21st century interpretation of something written not in the 21st century, and taking historical and cultural context into account to arrive at the true meaning and true prohibitions being talked about, are not disagreeing with God's word. It's an effort to more fully understand God's word, an effort some people can't be bothered with.
