I don't know if you got into World of Warcraft Beta(closed or open), but this game is excellent. It's shaping up to be the best MMORPG I've ever played. I got into open beta, and tried it out. One of my good buddies has been playing SWG a lot, and I played for a while. He was skeptical about WoW, but he tried it. He is now quiting SWG for WoW.

I love WoW for several reasons:

1. The exp is fast and rewarding.
2. The quests are easy to find and very rewarding.
3. The skill and talent system is a combination of some other popular MMORPGs, and it's rewarding.
4. The graphics are excellent. Some might be turned off by the "cartoon" feel, but it suits the Warcraft series.
5. Lag is so minimal, I am stunned. Having played SWG, I don't understand how polished World of Warcraft is despite being in beta.
6. It's an EXCELLENT game for casual and hardcore gamers alike.
7. Every class I tried was pretty unique, and it's rewarding to try all of them.

If you notice, 4 out of the 7 reasons I gave include the word "rewarding". If I were to use one word to describe this game, that would be it. Rewarding!

I absolutely agree. That's why I'm not getting it.

err...huh?

Yep, it's by far the best mmorpg I've ever played but I'm not getting it because I can already tell it would become an idol in my life. I have a friend who is seriously into it and it's all she wants to do which is kind of scary. I hate to not get it as I'm seriously into my little dwarf hunter and his big, bad bear (the cat's nice too) but I'd sink all my spare time into it if I did and after the hard time I had giving up EQ, I'm not gonna start.

I'm not knocking the game at all. It's awesome and I highly recommend it to everyone. If you like MMORPGs then you owe it to yourself to get this one. The rest xp for casual gamers makes it less frustrating for those who can't play as much as their friends and the fact that every class can solo well is another boon for CGs.

Another great thing it has going for it is the graphics. Because it is World of Warcraft, the world and creatures have the stylized, almost characatured look of Warcraft 3's world. This adds to the immersiveness and at the same time reduces the polygon count on everything. And it works. It runs like butter on my 1GHz Athlon with 544MB SDRAM and Radeon 9000 (64MB). I smell a huge hit here.
