2. How long have you KNOWN each other?
Just under a year.
3. How long have you been in a relationship?
Just under 11 months.
4. How long have you been in a long distance relationship?
Same as above.
5. How often do you talk or otherwise communicate with each other? What forms of communication do you use?
It used to be every day for a few hours. But since she lost her job from having TB, she can't afford the internet to much so sometimes she can only get on once or twice a week. Usually around Sundays.
We mainly use Facebook. But when she gets to a better connection like a cafe we use Skype or Facebook Cameras to talk to each other. Which often leaves me crying because I am totally mushy. Literally within a minute of seeing her on cam I touch the screen and break into joyful tears. ^.^ Of course it doesn't help when she sings love songs in English for me. lol
We also have hand written art/letters for each other and scanned them and sent them to each other on Facebook. Mainly because sending actual letters takes months and cost $50 each time. >.<
6. How far away do you live from each other?
I believe the exact number is 8,215 miles. I'm in Ohio, USA. Shes in Philippines (island below Manila).
7. How often do you get to see each other, and for how long?
We don't get to see each other in person...not yet at least because of the cost.
8. Do you have your own little rituals when you do get to see each other?
We always greet with hugs and kisses. Typical relationship stuff like how we are doing, and prayer requests...etc. When shes offline I send her messages full of love and do art/poetry for her. Which she loves seeing when she logs on! ^.^
9. What has been the most difficult thing you've had to deal with as part of a long distance couple?
Well not so much the distance as much as the not being able to physically hold each other. Just to be able to hold her in my arms would feel so good. ::sighs:: We both know often LDR's go sour not because the people don'e love each other, but because without physically being there sometimes couples feel bored.
Its why we pray every day that God keeps our bond/love strong. We've promised to God that we would never leave each other and be as patience as we can, even if it were to take 10 years. Although we are getting married in 3 months (hopefully).
10. Would you do it over again had you known how it would be?
Yes I would. Having been shown by God she is the one, it makes everything in my life worth it. All the pain, all the injuries and suffering I've gone through....I'd do it 1,000 times over to be with her!
I personally think if you want to test yourself and your faith in God you should try a LDR. The test every ounce of faith, strength, willpower, love, patience....etc. They say 50% of LDR's don't last because something gives way like that. I always believed I could handle a LDR. But when I heard where she was from I did panic because all the things involved were overwhelming.
Especially since I am disabled and don't get much a month. By my math it would have taken around 9 years for me to have enough saved to see here, marry her, afford passports and shots...etc. But by Gods love and blessings it isn't taking that long at all. We've known each other just under a year and are getting married in Feb 2013 thanks to God! We feel like a blessed couple!
