Not for me.
God asks:
Isaiah 46:5 ¶ To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
In addition, we know that prophecies ceased when the Word of God was completed; thus any religion started by a prophet (e.g. Mormonism, Buddhism, Seventh Day Adventism, Jehovah's Witness, Islam) would be automatically considered a false religion.
Oh, pardon me -- the "Enlightened One" --Buddah, a prophet?![]()
Since Buddhism claims no god, and the proper definition of a prophet is one who speaks to the people on behalf of god, then Guatama "The Deadbeat Dad" Buddha will have to suffice as "The Enlightened One".There you go.![]()

His wife would probably disagree.Buddha was a far far better man than such shallow weaklings as want to attack him in this forum.

Thanks for that question -- I see I made an error.Ha! and what did the disciples do?
Earlier she downplayed the significant of vaccines when I mentioned it and she was like "all I got was a polio shot" and then went on a rant about antibiotics being dangerous. Oh she also said she never gets sick. And hinted at a belief in faith-healing.
This one is not worth correcting. The ignorance is too much.
You have nothing to correct with. You are no different than you claim me to be.
Thank God for that and there NEVER was a science class that PROVED that we were from primates as a matter fact there NEVER was any evidence that PROVED we were from primates - you are believing a "theory" and that's ALL it has EVER been and ever will be.. in other words, you are believing a LIE!! You have NO proof but then you probably don't feel like "rummaging through" all the lies of science ... because you CAN'T bring PROOF!!
Do you have any problem with the THEORY of gravity, or germ THEORY? There is plenty of evidence of evolution, and loads of examples of speciation.
You mistrust of science is so disappointing, because you owe it so much. Maybe you don't use antibiotics or get vaccines, but you certainly benefit from them through herd immunity. The computer you're writing on, the electricity that makes your life easier, the printing presses that made your bible, all of these were developed by scientists. Sure, there are cynical scientists who are only out to make money, but I doubt you'd discredit all of christianity because of a few snake-oil faith healers, so why hold science to a standard that is so much higher?
I have no mistrust of science, AC. I have mistrust of people who think that science is the ultimate god. I have mistrust of the evidence that people manipulate to prove their research. I have mistrust of people who want to make a name for themselves. I have mistrust of people who say things are FACT when they are merely conjecture. I have mistrust of people who follow the money and try to say they want to help people. It's like the politicians that are always saying (here in America anyway) "The American people want this or the American people want that and we (the noble politicians) are here for the American people." For the most part they are really only "there" for themselves, and in many cases it is the same with scientists and doctors.
That has nothing to do with a mistrust of science. It's what is done WITH science that I don't like and ANY science, "so called" (it's really the scientist) that tries to deny the existence of God as Creator is worthy of my mistrust.
The Theory of Gravity is proven... not sure of germ Theory (don't know anything about it) but I know enough about evolution that it has never been PROVEN that all things come from a common ancestor. It's surmised, assumed, taught but NOT proven. Tell me how loads of examples of speciation are EVIDENCE of us all coming from on common ancestor.
I'm not holding science to a much higher standard. On the contrary, it is people on this forum who do. I just question them, not so much because I think they lie, but because I think that they believe what hasn't been proven as if it has. I believe in science. I also believe there are lots of mistakes. And I do not believe "we" (all creatures great and small) come from a common ancestor unless that ancestor is God.
I am not trying to be hard to get along with, nor am I ignorant as some suggest. I just don't accept some of the information without questions that many others seem to swallow just because it comes under the heading of "science" and is accepted by most people. I'm sorry speciation just doesn't do it for me.
Except I have an education in medicine and science...

And I do consider my years of Biblical education and my 40+ years experience and walk with God a higher education than any medical student will ever get.
How fortunate it is, then, that such people are few and far between -- science is, however, the ultimate tool -- but no better or worse than the weilder.
And I would say the Bible is the ultimate tool-- and I agree no better than the weilder. A truth is nothing but false if misunderstood and mishandled.
I have a healthy mistrust for any such person -- whether they wear a lab coat or clerical garb.
How about you?
That is a definite on BOTH counts. And I would stand against or for either depending upon their accountablity and information.
What about those people who try to use science to confirm the existence of God as Creator?
I don't think God needs science to confirm His existence. Science had nothing to do with God being confirmed in my life. So I don't think it is necessary. I just believed.
Well, you're mistaken about gravity and germ theory -- neither have been PROVEN, but that doesn't seem to stop people from getting results by proceeding as if they were true.
Well, I didn't know that. I thought what goes up must come down. Maybe there is no proving any science. You just have to believe in it. Hmmm sound so familiar.
Making mistakes is part of the human condition -- having a means to identify and correct those mistakes is very useful.
Yes, I can see that.
Well, that's your belief -- I tend to believe in going wherever the facts lead.
Facts are not always physical. Since you brought it up...Do you believe in gravity? You must go there even though it's not proven... right?
As long as you hold your religious beliefs to the same questioning standard, I would find you very easy (and interesting) to get along with.
And yet, when someone gets seriously ill or hit by a bus, 99% of them would rather put themselves in the med student's care than yours.
Just as long as an amputee isn't included, because there indeed seems to be a bias towards them.Unfortunately and fortunately that is true. For the 99% that would rather it is best that there is someone there to help them but for the 1% who believe I will pray for them and they will be healed. I thank God for prayer because many who have been left to die by doctors who could not help them further were healed by God when some prayed for them.
