There you go.
Since Buddhism claims no god, and the proper definition of a prophet is one who speaks to the people on behalf of god, then Guatama "The Deadbeat Dad" Buddha will have to suffice as "The Enlightened One".

Ha! and what did the disciples do?
Thanks for that question -- I see I made an error.

Buddha lived before the completion of the Scriptures, so I'll remove him from my list --

You have nothing to correct with. You are no different than you claim me to be.

Except I have an education in medicine and science...

That is not what I consider a plus if it takes you away from God. There are many doctors and scientists out there who have the same education and yet they still believe in God.

I have no mistrust of science, AC. I have mistrust of people who think that science is the ultimate god.

How fortunate it is, then, that such people are few and far between -- science is, however, the ultimate tool -- but no better or worse than the weilder.

I have a healthy mistrust for any such person -- whether they wear a lab coat or clerical garb.

How about you?

That has nothing to do with a mistrust of science. It's what is done WITH science that I don't like and ANY science, "so called" (it's really the scientist) that tries to deny the existence of God as Creator is worthy of my mistrust.

What about those people who try to use science to confirm the existence of God as Creator?

Well, you're mistaken about gravity and germ theory -- neither have been PROVEN, but that doesn't seem to stop people from getting results by proceeding as if they were true.

Making mistakes is part of the human condition -- having a means to identify and correct those mistakes is very useful.

And I do not believe "we" (all creatures great and small) come from a common ancestor unless that ancestor is God.

Well, that's your belief -- I tend to believe in going wherever the facts lead.

As long as you hold your religious beliefs to the same questioning standard, I would find you very easy (and interesting) to get along with.

Firstly, according to you, you ARE GETTING an education in medicine and science, and I might add that it is a very limited education when it comes to the human body. You receive a few years education on anatomy and the rest on diseases and how to use drugs (which will be obsolete in a few years) to manipulate those diseases. Unless you go on to specialize that's about all you get. You never really learn how the body functions and how to work with it to heal itself. Nope that is not the medicine of today. I realize this is in a nutshell but that is IT in a nutshell. It does pay big money though and has a lot of clout!!

And I do consider my years of Biblical education and my 40+ years experience and walk with God a higher education than any medical student will ever get.

And yet, when someone gets seriously ill or hit by a bus, 99% of them would rather put themselves in the med student's care than yours.

Well, then it seems we could get along. A good ending.

Unfortunately and fortunately that is true. For the 99% that would rather it is best that there is someone there to help them but for the 1% who believe I will pray for them and they will be healed. I thank God for prayer because many who have been left to die by doctors who could not help them further were healed by God when some prayed for them.

Just as long as an amputee isn't included, because there indeed seems to be a bias towards them.
